I have a habbit to play few games in a few days then take a break from this game for months (to see that nothing has changed in the first place). So i take out some of my tanks and play them a bit. And one of them is...well, probably i haven't played long with it - Hellcat. The question is :

Edited happened to this tank ? It's abnormally slow (of how it used to be or how i remember it). Acceleration got nerfed to the ground, traverse is awful, the gun is worse than ever. Concealment = doesn't exist (although the concealment bar is nearly full). Speaks the 4 perk crew.

Any patch notes i missed where this tank got nerfed to the ground, or ?

Cheers

Mobility nerf was like 4 years ago. Not much have been done to it since then tbh.

Can you honestly say it was balanced pre nerf with that mobility? Maybe not so much in the current meta. But def back then it def was.

Very much so. It's not as ******ed as it was in the past, but it's still incredibly bollocks.

Remember kids, having fun is illegal.

I always thought the rebalancing of the Hellkitty should be easy and even profitable for WG:

(1) remove the 90mm from the tier 6 (makes the Jackson more unique too)

(2) replace the tier 7 T25/2 with the super kitty (with the 90mm)

(3) reintroduce the T25/2 as a premium... remember how long people asked for a Murican TD crew trainer?

I'd love to see the M18 get some of its mobility back. Still, it has decent premium rounds that make it quite capable of dealing with Japanese heavies.

4 years ago apparently. The Hellcat hasn't been altered at all since then.

so turn it into a Type 64 with worse view range. That could work I guess.

The super hellcat would be a decent replacement for the T25/2 except for the slower turret traverse.

They took the hellcat to the vet and had it neutered.

What he meant is WG sometimes are the destroyers of fun. Overnerfing some tanks, that almost nobody wants to play them anymore afterwards.

I really like the HC, started playing it again. In the real world the HC was crazy fast, like 90kph fast! and it was really effective at scrambling to choke points quickly and records show this TD stopping very threatening German counter advances dead so the HC definitely was a good TD in the real world, though most were not the 90mm. In this game, to have such mobility would be pretty OP on these maps combined with a 90mm. In that regards the the T67 is OP, it keeps that mobility for some reason. If the HC didn't have some sort of drawback, paper armor not being one of them, then you would have a something that could move like a light tank, the camo and view range of a light tank and hitting power of a 90mm TD with 250 pen with the 2 key, there would be real downside lol, I think the way it is now, is about right, totally unrealistic and unhistorical, but about right. That said, I think the reverse needs a little buff, not much, just a few kph. As it is now, there isn't any way to reverse back behind cover if spotted so that forces too much of a conservative playstyle.

It was only that fast on a test track in a straight line, not the off-road speed. And that was with the 76. A heavier gun (with a heavier turret too) would have slowed it down. The 90mm was historically just an experiment and they decided it was not the better choice.

In game, I am considering switching back to the 76. I didn't seem to have that much trouble penning, and the 90mm is soooo slow......

Ya I toyed around with that idea too and there's no doubt about, the 90mm is painfully slow and with the 76mm your dpm(with a rammer who doesn't?) goes from 1963 dpm with the 90mm to a really nice 2579 dpm with 76mm, which a huge jump BUT, I still found that great one shot alpha of the 90mm and superior pen options to be the better gun, especially vs the higher tiers you will see most every battle. If I knew I would see mostly tier6 and some tier5, I would go with the 76mm but the way MM has us pitted against +1 and +2 every battle, nah, gotta stick with that 90mm, 240 alpha, its optional 243 pen when needed and usually it is for a couple of shots. Also having a Type 64 racing at you to get in behind and having just ONE shot to save yourself, its nice to have a 320 alpa HE shell to call on with 45mm of pen to just blow that premium stat padder away. With the 76mm, no such options plus with only 115 alpha, a paper TD made of ammo racks and that whole loading faster than it can aim thing... the 90mm all the way
