It can still do pretty well you just exposing a tiny bit of it's front hull and turret and shoting , but you will have to shot a lot to rack up damage.

Just find a river and drive into it. Cauze in most cases you won't be able to penetrate in tier X matches while hull downing.

Don’t count on your hull armour, it only works against tier 8’s that don’t shoot gold while using gun depression, but tier 9 and 10:s will melt through it easily, it is usually better than any of the shitty 240 alpha mediums but play it a bit like a medium and only use your armour as a last resort. When on flat ground the turret is better than a superpershings but not by that much if enemy tank is same level or taller than you. With that said this tank shines when hull down so try to hide your hull with whatever terrain or obstacles you can find. Like any other tier 8 tank in tier 10 you can’t really lead the charge.

I can understand that you want to know how the tank will perform in such situations. If you gift me one, I can test it out so you know for sure if you want to get the tank or not :).

Also, going for those tracking shots usually pays off.

That ^^^

I'd so prefer a Chrysler ... but I didn't know how the map rotation would shift when I bought it.

For me it's absolutely atrocious on flat maps. Haven't taken it out for a spin since forever.

Patriot is only really good if you can bully tier tier 6-7-8's from a hull down position.. As soon as its not in a hull down position or meet prem spamming tier 8's or tier 9  and 10 its just as crap as any other tier 8 heavy. And I would even argue it's worse then the high alpha tanks like IS-3 and such if you cant get in a hull down position. In a city knife fight alpha is king.

It's the new matchmaking system, where you get 3 top tier tanks, 5 middle tier tanks and 7 bottom tier tanks. This has led to an increase of bottom tier games for everyone (except tier 10 of course), because for every top tier tank the matchmaker will have to get more than double the amount of bottom tier ones in the same battle.

Not great because of the 240 alpha and hull armour. US heavies can sidescrape ok despite their thin side armour due to their thick tracks but the T32 is definitely better than the T26E5 doing this as it's tracks cover more of the hull and are thicker. Hull armour only really works against tier 6s and 7s, once people start having like 180 pen they will go through the lower plate relatively easily.

It also has weird sections on the hull that stick out when you angle it meaning even lower tiers can pen it there, the sides of the machine gun port are like 120 effective.

You need to go take it hull down somewhere and then you can put your DPM to work by poking more often where your turret armour will compensate for the extra exposure.

It's really a slow medium more than a traditional heavy. No idea why people thought it was OP, the Primo Victoria is virtually the same tank that trades hull armour for mobility.  Bottom tier you have to play like a support medium,

No, it refers to the retarded MM algorithm that was implemented in patch 9.18: https://worldoftanks...atchmaking-918/

When it was originally introduced it was kinda OP as it basically combined the strengths of the T32 with decent mobility (or alternatively the strengths of the Pershing with good armor) and a more reliable gun with good DPM. But that was before the Defender, armor buffs across the board, 9.18 and all the other nonsense changes since.

In city maps it's well bad unless you get cover, and when you get cover, if there is a tank which has 280+pen heat at your turret, you will always get dmg, so... I would not recommend it. Take something else, I have it, but unless i get a ridge I am not going to perform well in it, considering 95% of all my matches puts me as bottom tier.

Also accuracy is kinda trollish at 0.38, unless you're really close it's will rarely hit with pinpoint accuracy.

As well this is a High Skill cap tank, meaning you will need a lot of skill to show off it's true power.

IMO when it first appeared it was always a slightly faster T32 with worse armour, worse alpha but more pen.

I think if the T32 had the 220 pen it should have, like other tier 8 heavies, no one would have batted an eyelid at the Patriot.

To me it's like the Skorpion G, it was good, and probably better than it's tech tree brother, but in terms of overall tier 8 balance it was fine. People were just too used to crappy premiums that had come before it so when the new breed came out they called them all OP, but turns out they weren't really that OP.

The power creep is so quick these days tanks just can't keep up and the T26E5 has become fairly average

T26E5 has very low cost regular ammo, with higher pen than the EMIL 1 gold... Premium ammo is very expensive in the Patriot, so you should avoid.

Play it has a support tank, and you will make a lot of money. Don't try to trade with defenders or other tanks with high damage.

Playing in tier 10 battles is not that bad because you have mobility and good penetration, I actually think its the one of the best heavies to play but you have to play it like a medium, never has a heavy.

Don't count on the Armour, anything with a weakspot on the cupola cannot hull down and you have the weird mantlet that deflects shots to your bonnet causing damage, namely when other players shoot heat.

I use mine mostly in Team battles to make credits, it is still one of the most profitable tanks in the game, although the premium I use the most right now in random's is the T92.

All in all the most cost effective Premium Heavy you can buy.
