Hi

All to those that have played ranked I'm just getting rid of all my skill fade from being away for so long and have been reading a bit about ranked and have seen mixed reviews.

Is it really worth it at the end of the day and just how much do you or me (an average to good(ish) player) gain from it?

Is there a different mind set that needs to be used as I'm not one for sitting back and whoring damage as I will probably be playing meds and want to be in the thick of it.

thanks in advance

You don't want to sit in the back farming. What gives you experience, and thus chevrons, is sitting hull down in front of the enemy blob and duke it out there. With the rewards I'd say it's worth your time.

I just played ranked on all three seasons till I got bored, frustrated, getting the idea it became a job, took too much of my time and called it quits at that moment and was happy with the rewards it gave me. Of course you wont win the top prices but wont waste huge amount of your time and will not get frustrated.

After seeing the results of season 1 and how ridiculously easy it would've been to get at least some rewards for it, I'll participate in next season for sure. Not gonna take it too seriously but will definitely play a game or two.

Do you want the rewards, namely bonds and credit boosters?

If yes, then it's just about ok to put up with, especially in the new format as there is no rush to finish ranks in a week, you can just progress to 15 over the whole period. Tooke me around 100 games to get rank 15, that got me top league, I basically played 1-2 ranks at a go, if I progressed I stopped for the day, if I dropped too many Chevrons I stopped for the day, so overall it was not that painful.

If no, then don't bother, it's just a worse randoms.

I was never farming damage from the back, most of the time I was the first one to yolo. I played for fun, I didn't care if it's gonna take me 80 games or 300, didn't care about my efficiency either. I just played every evening for 3 hours.

Heck I even played arty just for lulz (while being low on credits) without progressing for several days.

So you can easily do it with a relaxed mind set, you just need to shoot straight and have some awareness.

I think you are looking at it from the wrong point of view.
You should only play it if you think it is fun.  Then the rewards will be a bonus.

It's basically T10-only random games with some extra rewards on top and a slightly different matchmaker. You're not forced to go all-in, even just a dozen games or so can get you some ranks and rewards. And you can stop at any time without loosing anything you've earned so far (requirements for leagues change constantly, so don't attempt to go for those directly).

Of course if you don't like T10 games then this mode is probably not your thing.

Well, you shouldn't yolo-rush into the enemy, but in general it's not that different from T10 random games. Looking at what your team is doing is a bit more relevant though, you're not gonna carry games alone.

You mean to tell me this isn't supposed to be a Korean MMORPG grind fest game? :amazed:

Well I play for fun in randoms so the rewards will be the added extra  so if im taking that point of view ranked is pointless. Im thinking of it as a good income of Bonds

More or less.

But more that you shouldn't play a mode for the rewards, but because you like the mode.

You get some books do.

But is it more fun then randoms?

If yes, go chase it.

If no, why would you have less fun when you can have more fun?

Sure it would be a no-brainer to choose mode if there were no rewards. But it's still tanks shooting at stuff, you know. A little less fun is still fun. And rewards.

Well after my experience with WoWs I have been put off ranked for good.

Its like climbing mount Everest for a peanut.

I did a couple of games in this seasons ranked but only out of curiosity.

So next year I wont bother, i'll use the time for seal clubbing tier 8's, as all the other tier 10 players will be busy climbing for that peanut.

For me personally it's not really worth it, too much hassle for too little useful rewards. Certainly with all the mandatory premium ammo spam and broken heavies at tier 10.

If you're good at the game you can leave ranked till the last  few days and blitz it, do it in 60 games. It's probs worth it, for all these nutters that play 1200 games in ranked, no it is definitely not.

It depends on what you want to get out of it. If you just want the rewards I'd say no. But if you like playing ranked battles you just just do it and stop when you don't enjoy it anymore. I played with only meds (T62A and 121) and finished quite high, so playing meds only should not be too much of a problem. (although S conq would get the best results)

I got about 30 credit boosters, 8500 bonds, 12 premium days, 2000 gold and a bunch of other stuff. It's alright.

This and a lot of credits so even with premium spam you finish with more than you started.

I now have like over 100 hours of +50% credits. :great:
