Yaay, 1 more day before a few spawn win maps gone

so having played test server what is the only good thing /s about 1.0?

 

swamp gone yaay no more auto loss on south spawn games

highway gone, for a bit at least, yaay no more autoloss on south spawn wins

 

4 other maps going,

 

shame that the only way the developers can improve the game is to remove things but at least it is an improvement

Played a few battles over the last couple of evenings.

 

Had both Swamp and Highway twice, both times on each map we spawned in the south base, and all 4 battles were wins. 1 Rolfstomp on Highway, and 1 close (15-14) on swamp, and the other 2 15-8 or 15-9 results. Not bad for auto lose in my book.

WTF, how did you decide those maps are gone?

Have they wrote it down somewhere that we wont see those maps till they are reworked or something like that? :ohmy:

If so, i very much want to see a link in studio.

I actually like swamp from either spawn. From the south and in a semi fast tank I always go north and deny the enemy the top corner by sitting just under the hill at D7 and D8.


 

Highway on the other hand I hate from either side - good riddance

I'm very curious. Wasnt following new patch that much. Now i'm feeling out of loop. :confused:

​I'll miss Highway south spawn spotting though. Circle cruising that field is 101 view range camo game play.

​yep, highway, swamp, mitengard, Kharkov, windscale and Stalingrad going.

Kharkov and highway still in wg plans for future

 

Pilsen getting massive rework

new glacier map

erlenberg rework, fjords rework, steppes rework, few others tweaked

Swamp is a good map, both bases have got strong (aggressive) positions they can go to and it actually for me is doing really well from both bases.

 

Highway, well it's not unbalanced, just not as much fun. Not a bad map though.

Why do they insist on keeping mines the same, and for higher tiers, is really beyond me!!!

i recall reading a news item on the WG main site detailing new, altered, removed ones

 

edit: just done a quick check back on the site but can't see it. however it might be on the 1.0 portal but my work PC won't let me access it

​nope, swamp in now worst map in game for win imbalance, nsouth spawn cant defend 8/9/0 lines and that's why it is being removed

 

now, a simple solution would have been a position in d/e0 where south spawn tanks could dig in, like the north spawn has in a4/5

I think they're removing Kharkov and Stalingrad mostly because they're based on actual cities.

Not entirely sure if the way they look changed much since the war in the great Rasha ;)

 

Otherwise why would they do it? This change will certainly trigger Steve...

Lots of tanks were not doing great there.

Smart, but how are they gonna make rocket science out of every minute change they do to the game?

South of spawn was not actually an autoloss, neither was north. In fact the meta had started to shift on them.

 

Encounter on Mines and Cliffs were the real horrible ones, are they gone ?

And i hope they changed the ruinberg/winterberg to suit encounter, or himmelsdorf move to castle.

And highway's biggest problem is the fact that it was heavily scout dependent, and ppl don't know how to scout.

Don't get me wrong - removing those two feels like a second Christmas.

Heavies should like them though and will be pining for them for sure. I used to like them in AT 15A which is the only heavy machine I ever drive since 3/5/7.

Not so much in any other tank.

Well, 268v4 probly doesnt cry if it gets those maps.

e3 is not that sad either... :trollface:
