hi

I'm wondering if there is a way to how many % of the players have earned the requirements for a certain badge? I'm talking of course about the ones that show up next to your ingame name. Obviously for the campaign missions STUGIV is more common than T28HTC and so on. But what about when you take into account all the other badges? I should say that i'm no player that keeps up with all the stats websites that exist, so the answer might be obious for someone else, but I haven't managed to find anything.

The problem there is that 2/3rds of the registered player base have never played more than a few games. Figures form Wot News show EU server registered accounts - 21million, players that have played more than 500 games - 6.7million

And then of that 6.7million that have played more than 500 games probably 2/3rds of them have played in the past but are not active now - and then again that depends on how you describe 'active' - less than 1million EU players logged on in the last week (again the number is from Wot News)

So the percentage of players that have earned the requirements for a certain badge may only be something like 5% in total - but that could be 95% of the current playerbase who have 5 or more (non premium) T8 tanks.

You don't even have to check external sites, just do some random searches for playernames on the portal. More than 50% of the results will have 0 battles played, less than 10% more than 1000 battles. Of course those accounts also include those only playing WoWs or WoWp, in addition to complete dummy accounts.

But no, the API doesn't expose information for badges yet.

Even if I had the badge for competing Obj 260 missions with honors I wouldn't place it next to my nick. I get enough focus from XVM scumbugs, no need additional one from those not using XVM.

Thing is that many have dummy accounts for simply having their 2nd rig join to explore maps on new patches, or to test things in training rooms. As that's what I have my 2nd account with zero battles for. Then you have NA accounts, or 2nd accounts that needs 250 battles to post on the forum here when their main got banned, and there are a few of those to. Then you have alt accounts for WN8 padding. So the real player number is ofc way way lower.

Thing is that most that do complain about XVM and that arty always focuses om them due to it in chat during battles now, all have a big ranked gold badge or the big badge for doing all missions with honors next to their name. That's equally as attractive as their WN8 color for most anyway.

Alright let's say we ignore what I said of about percentages and just look at numbers then.

Ok then, that settles that.

Is there any reason you'd like to know, or is it 'just because'?

On a side note, I find it kinda funny if arty actually focus on players with badges. Except maybe the clan war badges, they're more likely to be held by players who just play a lot rather than play well. Quantity is a viable substitute for quality in terms of the March of Nations badge, the PM badges and the Ranked badges ...though shiny things are known to attract certain species simply because they look nice.

Just curious on why some people show one badge over the other. I first thought it was because of how rare they were but since we don't know...

Muddy tracks is super rare, only about 40% of the playerbase got it.

Some people need 'advice' on whom to focus, cause, ya know, thinking is difficult and shooting the key tanks in key positions is difficult too, especially if you don't have a clue where key positions are.

...so every little bit helps - be it XVM or the badge...
