I know if you sell a regular premium tank you can restore it within 72 hours of sale. And if you sell a "rare tank" you can restore any time you want after sale, basically you will never lose the tank since you can always buy it back for credits.

But how does it work of personal mission reward tanks? Can you sell them and restore them whenever you want? Or do you lose them permanently?

You can restore (unsure for how long).

To recover, just go to Store->Store->Vehicles. Pick "Recover with credits" instead of "Purchase". You'll pay 10% extra.

Source: I needed urgent credits, sold T-55A for 3.5mil, rebought it for 3.85mil.

If you sold it before the update where you can restore it in the garage the only way to restore it is to contact support, but if you restored a tank before using support you can go F yourself since WG EU only allows to restore one tank per account. I tried this once myself to get Stug 4 and support legend told me my best way to get it back is to reset my account...

He is talking about the In-game restore system where special tanks can be sold infinite amount of time and you can still restore them but regular tanks are available for restoring 72h
