MM is not realistic for this tank! With this tank it was once a pleasure to play, now this is all just a non-enjoyment. If you put it with Tier 9 tanks, give it a gun with a big pentration for it. with this gun can hardly penetrate most havy tank 8 tier, against 9 tier is impossible to play.

WG said after 1.0 it will be the first premium to be buffed. Issue was that they don't know if it will keep the pref MM or not. If it loses it, it will get a major pen buff. If it keeps it. I suspect it will be a modest one to make it between 190 to 198 ish. And get the gold pen to 240 ish. If it loses the pref MM, they will offer full refunds etc for those that want it.

KV5 is great for shooting through the roof, used to shoot through the roof of IS 7 while facehugging (few years ago it was weak)

167 mm pen gun in current enviroment(when almost same gun in T-54 is already buffed to barely acceptable 190 mm.)?

This tank sitts in my garage for long time until fix.

Any source on that? Seems too good to be true.

Judging by the English Q&A stream with Andrey Bletsky, they really wanted to remove PMM, and 'full refund' (~cash, I presume) wasn't exactly promised. In the very same stream, he mentioned the issue of giving the KV-5 some random gun that fit with balance, because of course they wanted to stay kind of historically accurate.

Of course, hard to tell whether I should trust Bletsky translating his own words or random blogs translating crappy stream transcripts.

The only fair thing the WG would be to return the tank to the previous tier or to return the gold we gave for it. This is how the KV5 is the only premium tank that serves as a bag for hitting and spinning 9 tier.

The only fair thing the WG

1 - Keep the tank as it is

2 - Accept buff and remove PMM

3 - Neither and get a money refund.

Those are the only true fair options we should get.

If they buff the Zis-8, I want the same on T-150, KV-2, KV-3 and KV-4.

T-150 and KV-3 would became stronger if Zis-8 get buffed...

Strongly agreed. I tried playing my KV-5 again the other day and it just gets ***d on by the current buffed up environment.

Put it down a tier, add a few more weak points and remove PMM. Then it would fit nicely with the template system MM.

No. I'm not insane, after all.

However, the creative director of WoT stated that historical accuracy is actually important to them (this is quite literal):

"We're not really being super historically accurate game per say, we're trying, but not to the dot - to the millimete,r we're not a simulator anyway. (...) We're not gonna give the KV-5 a gun that was never ever even considered installed on it. (...) Some things that hypotethically could happen might happen in a wargame. Some things that were crazy when this thing was real, and this is a real tank, it was built in 'Nevel', we're trying not to do (anything like this)."

The Q&A stream above suggests that vehicles will be adressed on a case-per-case basis, with nothing 'definite' per tank. Removing PMM, rebalancing to T7 ...they don't know, even for what they've stated is the first tank in line: KV-5.

They do want to remove PMM (due to balancing/technical reasons, probably). Exactly what is happening to the PMM tanks is hard to tell until they've finally figured out exactly how badly they want PMM gone.

If you ask me, the main problem is likely that they can't buff PMM tanks into 'proper' T8s without removing PMM. That would be straight-up 'pay to win'. Removing PMM causes problems in terms of refunds - unless they give you the simple option of keeping the old crappy tank or switching to a non-PMM improved variant.

(Wargaming's doing a really weird job on PMM. It would make way more sense to remove all PMM tanks from (regular) sale and just buff them to proper T8 levels. Give them some more penetration and call it quits, more or less.)

It will be sold on special occasions or given away. Type 59 was once in the premium shop. Pmm works fine for tanks below tier 8. I have a Pz V/IV at tier 5 and a Panther/M10 at tier 7 and PMM works fine for both.

The tank currently sucks even with tier 8, not mentioning 9. If WG idea of solving the issue is to let him play with tier 10, ii wish good luck. Not interested in compensation in gold or other tier 8 vehicle. I paid a money (not gold) for it and will not accept anything else then full cash refund on my CC account based on consumer rights in my country. MM +/- 2 is the worse idea in that game, and i am not going to continue to subsidize it with my money
