This is just annoying. Wargaming just posted this amazing offer!

"No less than 18 Tier VIII Premium vehicles are on discount, so use this opportunity to get the vehicles you always wanted!"

Are they really? All wargaming have done is slap some premium time in the deal. There's 15 5x xp missions too but if I'm not mistaken, can't they only be used on the premium tank you brought? That means you need to spend more money to convert any xp into free xp?

I get that this is nothing new. I get that they're just milking as much money as possible from digital goods but really? It's almost insulting.

I'm more annoyed at how it's presented... The tanks aren't on sale (If they are, it's only by a few pounds/euros). I think it's great if you need the premium time but they make it sound like the tank is on offer. Also, I could be wrong but I looked at the store earlier and I could buy a month of premium time. Not any more?

Ps. Don't know if this is in the right topic.

I'm not saying it's a bad business move but as a player it just feels like an insult. Just offer the tank if you say the tank is on discount.

You can always count on WG EU to ruin special day like this  by price inflating bundles

Special day with nothing special.... sad

Every now and then I get an E-Mail with some computer hardware on sale from a retail store I frequent quite often. Should I feel insulted for that as well? I don't quite get the issue with a company advertising their sales.

Well if you really want to, you can buy the tank in the tech tree for gold, that's cheaper. Then buy a garage slot for it and 30 days of premium separately on top of that. As that's what you get for free. And that's the offer. If you don't like it, don't buy it. It's not that complicated. Most still take it as they get 30 days of prem time for free. That cost half a tier 8 prem med tank almost.

Sure they say the tank's are on discount, when they are really not. But even so. It's still not a bad deal.

No, there's nothing wrong with advertising. My problem is with how it's presented. Again, it just feels a bit dirty. If you need the premium time then this is a great offer. Unless the tanks are on offer in the garage? Still downloading the update.

Yeah no I agree! If you want/need the time it's great! It just, if you say the tank's on offer then put the tank on offer.

Either the discount is for premium or for the personal reserves.

Since nobody buys personal reserves that's your perception they are discounting those. However they can claim they are truly discounting the premium tank and it might be true. :P

Tier 8 MM is utterly broken, why the hell would anyone even consider buying one of these lame "offers" ?

Unless of course you get some kind of masochistic pleasure of being bottom tier 80% of the time.

Actually that's not an unreasonable thing to criticise

The only two options aren't make a loss or milk every possible penny out of customers at every turn to make obscene profits, theres a myriad of far more ethical levels between those two extremes

Or you can put ACT on and get a massive boost to your crew training.  But that would require engaging brain before putting fingers on keyboard.

My problem is that in the Christmas loot boxes I got lots of Prem Time and masses of gold - with which I then bought 360 days Premium Time at a good discount - and I still have 380 days of premium time left.
So these offers where it works out that you buy the tank at normal price and get the premium time free are not attractive to me at all.

That's pretty much it for me too. Shame. Guess I'll just go without. The upside is as has been pointed out, tier 8 is pretty steep right now so no great loss I suppose. Back to my tier 6!

You’re missing the point. If a PC costs £1000 and you get an email saying “Wow, 50% discount!!!”, you walk down to the store with your £500 ready for a bargain. Only that when you arrive, the PC is still £1000 but you get a memory stick with it that the store has put an arbitrary value of £500 on. You can buy an equal memory stick for £5 but the store says this one is really special.

This is what they’re doing and in a lot of countries it’s illegal as “bundling” items normally not sold together and then claiming “discount” or “sale” is against consumer protection acts. You could probably file a sucessful complaint in UK, Sweden but for the money we’re talking about who can be bothered. Plus it’s fairly obvious if you’ve played for a while. Sucks for noobs thinking they get great value tho.

Never thought about the legality of it. Although I think the price might be slightly lower? Maybe that makes it acceptable?
