I used to play at slightly above absolute minimum settings since I have to use an old bootcamped mac as my gaming laptop. I had decent 30-35fps and the game looked decent. Now after the patch I have everything but terrain quality set to minimum while terrain quality to low and I get 20-25fps with strange hickups and everything looks much worse. Hell it looks worse than 4 years ago. I'm not sure I'll play this game anymore.

Well, world moves on and why should WG downscale their product so it runs on outdated hardware ?

I'll also do what I did for the other guy, OP has 19k battles, at around 6 minutes per game that is around 1900 hours of gameplay, or nearly 80 days of gameplay.

If he was to play as many games again (unlikely I know), then at around £500 for decent rig that will play this game for years to come, that would work out at round 26p/hour of gameplay, which seems like a lot of 'bang for your buck' to me.

I agree with you this is what I should do. The thing is Wargamming promised the requirements won't go up. This is a straight up lie. What is more the only server they care about is RU and they have as bad PC's as I have so I'm not sure it's what they wanted. It's just annoying they can't keep a simple promise.

The problem isn't that I play on mac. The problem is the requirements were supposed not to go up and in theory they didn't. If I had a bad PC i'd have the same problem so I'd be glad if you posted more than a stereotypical gamer response of "hurr durr bad mac".  I don't play as much as I used to so I don't need a PC. I get that Macs suck for gaming.

What are the system specifications? Can you give us a screenshot of the in-game graphics settings?

Own experience suggests that 1.0 runs fine even on potatoes; don't default to blaming the game. Drivers might be outdated, seeing as this is a new graphics engine.

Well unfortunately the time has come to either upgrade your Graphics card and Ram (if you have a PC not a laptop)

Look on amazon you can get reconditioned office desktops for around £300-£500 with graphics cards and ram fitted and tested.

I can see you have quite a few premium tanks, for the price of 1 or two of these tanks you could get quite easily afford a nice graphics card.

Im running a suped up potato or as i like to call it a sweet potato.

i5 3.2 processor with 8gb of ram and a 2gb nvidia and i can run  the game on max settings at 50-70fps.

This rig cost me £280 in total as I bought the tower online for £80

I updated the graphics drivers and it made a big difference in FPS

Up to date graphic drivers. Intel hd3000, 2012 i5 2.3 processor, 8gb ram, hybrid drive. Fps is fine if I go even lower with the graphics. Plus the terrain gets this strange bug where I get more detail 5m in front of the tank and everything more in front is loading and it's super distracting to shoot at anything.

I have an older PC in my basement that will run it on mid-high. I just don't have the space for it now and I don't really want it since I'm limiting my gaming.

In my experience desktops don't take up that much space, or you could go to the basement and play it there

Well then there's not much we can do for you other than the suggestions others have made...

It seems you want to have your cake and eat it

Sorry but the truth is quite simple.

Upgrade or quit

There probably are some optimisation still to come..

However i actually got an increase in fps. Usually i am on 60-80 with all settings on max at 1080p... Now i rarely dip under 110...   Does this update give more of the 'load' to the gpu ?

Not an expert, but I noticed HD3000 is limited to DirectX 10.1 (HD4000 supports DX11).

According to Process Explorer, WoT does actually load some DX11 elements (as well as DX9 and DX10.1).

Also, I don't think Wargaming said that you should expect to run on the same settings; rather that the minimum requirements weren't changing. I'm pretty sure the game looks better than it used to on minimum settings, however.

Good for you that you're limiting your gaming, but if you have to limit it I'd say go cold turkey. At least until someone finds mods to disable certain features; Wargaming has already one on the mod site.

It depends on how many people they want to play their game, doesn't it.

I guess its safe to say that most nerds will obey and put the money on the table to be able to play... its not like they asking for PC specs that are already common for most other games.

Do you run standard or improved graphics. If you set it to standards, and run low. It will more or less look like the old wot and run better. As even my old potato rig with a 512 mb GPU can run 1.0 with 30 fps then.
