Maps are seriously cool looking, and I have no drop in performance, whatsoever.

Is it that the forum just likes to grouch a lot ?

Nah I like it too

Yes the forum is a drama stage and you can randomly pick a topic or feature and find endless bitching about it.

That's exactly why when really is the moment to complain about something, is worthless as it gets unnoticed. :coin:

Yea i was thinking the same actually, there are only trivial things happening on my side. but it has alot to do with user's playing on what ever device that turns on to play wot and WOT just doesn't support things that have been forgotten.

I have faith in 1.0 game. In time it will be polished and better than previous one.

I'm with you. Even if I see some unbalanced map I'm decent enough to have a good fight.

Well here's two of us not complaining...

I reckon new maps are great.

For some, only a small minority though, wouldn't even be happy if WG served up 1.0 on a solid gold platter:)

I had a thing with the flattening of some maps (mostly because you get shot by positions that was highly unlikely to, before),

but other than that is was a pretty good update.

I'm loving it, even though I've been forced to to play with most settings on medium so that my elderly GTX 570 can keep a stable 60fps...

I also like it. There will be complaints after all major patches, so who cares.

Most of those I know in the game are all happily playing away on 1.0 ... some gripes about the maps, but what's new about that?

No, I wrote this in the "1.0 is here" thread:

"Nice work WG, everything went just perfect from the start:

- About 25 mins to install with download (no use for the preload option), normal update, no settings reset or anything else.

- Full setting at Full HD and got +70fps. 4y old PC with i5 something and a GTX 700 something, SSD and 8g ram (iirc)

- No bugs or crashes.

- No lags, not that I have ever had any.

- Everything looks amazing and smooth.

- Only thing that didnt change were the useless st**id players, even more useless now since everyone are just looking at the map and shooting on everything else but the enemies. Oh well, I still managed to get 60% winrate today (with bad stats though...)

- And now we can even get one of the most rare tanks for free :honoring:"

In my opinion this update is the best from all. It's like a reset for this game.

Old strategies are obsolete and is funny to see that lot of people don't know what to do in these new conditions.

I'm happy too. Some weird maps, but I can kind of see what they're going for (and it's supposedly much easier to modify maps now, so hopefully they'll keep at it).

The most annoying thing about 1.0 is large amount of people complaining in the Gameplay forum that their ancient potatoes can't run WoT - when it's very much evident that the problems are, in one way or another, between the chair and keyboard.

Once they iron out the little technical snags and address the maps to offer more cover and play-ability it will be gold. The graphics are stunning and something that needed doing, that doesn't mean the maps needed to be altered however, but the graphics, ya, that was really nice.  To be honest I was dropping back to more casual appearances with this game anyway and might have hung up my gloves so this will keep me interested for another while to come even though the gameplay itself has not changed so maybe it won't sway me or other players that might be just about done with this game anyway.

That does not mean rage quit, not at all, just a case of you play a game so many times and eventually you just lose interest. For me this is more of a winter thing so there would be a natural drop off in my battle count in and around the summer months anyway but ya I was on the verge of taking a break... and with computer games, sometimes when I take a break, I don't ever come back, so this new 1.0 has my interest for now and I guess that is what the point of these changes are, to keep players playing with the hopes of these same players spending money.

Gaming, especially online gaming has a cycle and a catch 22. You start bad, lose a lot, suffer through the learning curve and eventually get good. Then you enjoy a period of being as good as you can and knowing all the tricks and winning more often etc but only for so long, eventually this gets stale and you just lose interest and move on. But before that you hope there will be changes to make that game interesting only you then get offended and shocked if you actually see such changes so for gaming its an ironic case of "WE NEED CHANGES!!!!" and then when you get changes "HOW DARE YOU CHANGE THE GAME!!!!" :teethhappy:

I've been quite happy with what I've seen yesterday, I play at minimal graphics settings (intel i4000 onboard card) and actually my FPS went up, and the graphics quality is much better. No other issues whatsoever.... (other than a short period of black garage scene when getting back from battle)

Because ppl that are happy with new content, usually don't post about it to let WG know. 90% of the posts about the update are issues or complaints as pr the norm. Not many are with regards to say how satisfied they are with new content. But on the few topics about it, there are ppl responding to say the same. But would not unless that post was made.

And tbh.. I have no issues what so ever on performance. And overall enjoying the new patch, as there is not much I hate so far. But there are some minor things that annoy me a little, or that I don't get. Can't say I'm much in love with the new map so far. 6 games on it. All 6 have been the same. North moves about, south camps the south east corner killing most that goes on the ice. But gets raped by the TD's camping the north hill.

That and the new area on the south west corner of Fishermans bay. I do get why they did sort out the 1/2 line, and I like the changes there as it made lemmings easier to handle. But I don't get the flat wide open area they made on the south side.

Exactly the same here. And I'm using a 2 year old gaming laptop (Acer Predator 17 G9-731). Everything is set to ultra and runs smoothly on at ~75fps.

All good apart from a bit more loading lagg.

Also, the tornado/water spout over the sea on Airfield is cool. :)
