Erlenberg is worst now, than it was before. Way to open. The north team has a clear advantage.

What do you think?

Complete trash, and unless some ruskies pros find a way to play this map, it is indeed worse than what it was.

 

-The mid is borderline useless now, cuz you pretty much have to go to the ennemy side to do something, yea good luck in those ebola full tier 10 mm.

-Left side could have been playable but nope, because of those autistic td's spot everywhere and the fact that you only have 2 viable covers, so you basically sit here the whole game looking at each other, feels good.

-Right side is now completely unplayable, it's still pointless to go there from the other spawn and again, way too many opportunities for the worst strv player to ruin an entire team because you just can't get to him nor even spot him.

-The FREAKING BUSHES IN THE SOUTH CAP WITH THE NICEST SLOPE ON EARTH. HOLLY **** good luck taking out anything with a decent camo and a good turret, you can't even spot at all. GG nice balance.

Erlenberg has a new meta, it will take time for people to figure out... My hint is that it shifted from a E-W to a N-S confrontation...

Erlenberg now is all about taking the center... i and in my opinion this brings a very interesting concept

 

the map outskirts are very exposed, yet that doesnt mean they cant be exploted, except, any slower heavy tank will instantly die when crossing the open if the enemy has taken strong defensive positions in the center

 

the middle of the map is very dense, and it bring great oportunities for heavy fights, the sides are also very interesting for TD's with good camorating, and fast light tanks...

its not hard to go center, its actaully easy for both teams...

 

usualy what happened in Erlenberg was, both teams would take each other a river margin and then the game would become boring because they would camp hardly and wait for the enemy team to commit mistakes, now its all about taking the center, the first team taking the center will allmost allways win, but the center is hard to control, because corridors are dense and tiny and there is also a bridge or a river, there is so much to explore about the new way to play the map...

While this was WGs intent, nothing shows this to be true (yet).

They have trashed a lot if maps. Now it's open ground almost everywhere and we can hide in the bushes at the red line.

I liked the old Erlenberg and now its pure garbage. Nothing else expected from wg.

Perhaps WG should have announced, "Maps removed - Erlenberg and Fjords. These have been replaced with different maps of the same name"

Lets not forgot the steep sided trench added on the 1 line. Thanks for that one WG! (I found out the hard way about that one :arta: ;)

 

Anyhow...I've actually played to little on the map to say something. What I can say is...its still campy I guess. Like someone here suggested...it might be suited to a new meta that no one has figured out yet.


 

In any case...not really a disaster...but I mean...the map actually just needed small changes...not to be nuked...but whatever...

now if you take out your STRV, you want that map... Its just hilarious how much dmg you can farm with those TDs on that map....

Total ebola... that corner of map positions its just pure golden trolling from map "developers".

 

Pre 1.0 east and west + post 1.0 center of map might actually made interesting map but WG just needed to overdo this one.

You guys made it sound like it was great before 1.0. It was trash in 9.22. It's still trash now. But still better off in some ways. As before it was simply one team camping the 2 or 9 line waiting for the other team to cross the river. That was 9 out 10 games. And they were boring. At least now, the map is a bit more fast paced.

I liked the old map very much. 1.0 made every map worse in my opinion. Nothing about this shitmap is fun now.

While I like this map, I've really enjoyed the new.

 

But I've went in to this update with eye wide open and embracing the changes... Its Day 3 give them a chance.

From the few games I have played and seen of it, it seems to be the middle is more important than it ever was before, the issue with both flanks is the camping platforms with massive open spaces in front of them which are death zones. 

 

Not only does this attract people to camp from the start, but it then means no one wants to push as it's completely stupid, so they have created another old swamp and similar to old Erlenberg where both teams are waiting for each other to blink. 

 

The only way to counter those positions seems to be moving up the river, but that is a complete maze. Especially from South to North it looks like they want you to cap basically, go up through the middle and cap, as that spot challenges that corner camping position.

old map was great for farming pubbies. crap if two decent teams cause everyone camped

 

new map....we shall see

The old map was fine you bunch of whingers. It just took some patience, tactics and skill which is something the player base isn't so good at. I could win it easily as attacker and defender and on normal mode also. The map had some great rolling hills and undulations to suit those who want to poke ridges, ample scope for TDs and decent spotting locations.

 

The new map is just epic fail. The bases are heavily covered with trees and hull down positions with kill zones in front of them. it's going to be just a camp fest or rofl stomp 9 times out of 10. And in assualt mode the attackers have almost zero chance as they are forced to attack the hidden campers. I really struggle to see any logic from WG on this one.
 

The middle may give some opportunities to get close, but once you stick your nose out you are going to be obliterated by the hidden campers.

Old Erlenberg was a camp off, that was the issue, I never hated it and it was a map that had opportunities for most tank types but the meta developed to a point where camping until you had a numbers advantage was the best way of winning.

 

But IMO it was fixable, like adjusting the spawns and caps, adding more crossing points etc.

 

To be honest if you took the old flanks and added the new middle, I think you'd have a decent map. I think the middle is a big improvement, but they have made both flanks worse and put those stupid camping platforms in.
