I took a hit in the rear from a friendly Type 4 heavy in my T57 Heavy. I guess he was unhappy with a low roll of 515 dmg, so he decided he would push me out of cover too exposing me to the enemy redliners on Fishermans bay. He never turned blue.

I decided I would keep him tracked just to make a statement, so I took off his tracks 3 times doing zero damage. I was very careful to hit only tracks. I can see a scenario where I would have to track him to prevent him from pushing me further.

Guess who turned blue.

This system is fail if you ask me.

This^

Next time I suggest you wait until he is down to a few HP then finish him off (only if it doesn't affect the result ofc) ;)

Tell me the difference between pushing someone into the line of fire, and keeping a friendly tracked in the line of fire? It's the same thing. And thus zero damage crit hits counts too. As your gun has two sets of damage factors. One to armor, and one to modules. Thus you still do damage to friendlies, thus the system still counts it. Tthere is no system to monitor pushing. But there is for team damage. And you did more of it, simple as that. Thus you turned blue first.

If zero damage cirt hits did not count. You would be here to make a new topic when the same thing happens, and he pushes you to perma track you on the enemy line of fire... since he did not turn blue from it.

The system says "DON'T SHOOT YOUR TEAMMATES OR YOU'LL GET BANNED".

You shot your teammates and turned blue.

The system worked as expected.

Vigilante... cute.

You shot a team mate 3 times, turned blue. Seems to me the system is working just fine. Next time be sure to fire one more shot after turning blue, just to make sure the system still works fine.

Glad to see that your brilliant idea for trying to cheat backfired.

You sure do learn some stuff on this forum.  Now all I have to do is locate the Vigilante Mode option in Settings.  Would that be under the "Entitled Little Twonk" menu?

I only ever shoot at "enemies" ... that's easy !

"Enemies" are   1.  The red tanks

                            2. Any player who shoots me deliberately .. accidents happen and that's OK ( If arti hits me while aiming at a close enemy, I always tell him he was right to try the shot ).

                            3.  Any player who shoots one of my team-mates

If you are going into "vigilante" mode, you must learn how it works. I have read that there is more to it than just shooting and damage, Apparently, it takes into account how long you aim at a team-mate before shooting him.

Counting to 10 and moving on to the next battle is just too much like "appeasement". Best is to annoy the perpetrator and try to get him to shoot you again so that he is more likely to go blue.

Don't try to be the vigilante, follow the rules and you wouldn't get into trouble. I know it can be pretty annoying to be the victim but if you decide to return the favor, you might need to face the consequences.

Well, I've 'retaliated' against bad play and blatant bullying in the past - but, you just end up blue, and then have to worry about unintentional rams or splashes for the next 10 games or so.  And, realistically, the sort of dingleberry who pushes you into the line of fire, or nudges you over a cliff is NOT going to apologise because you took half his health away.  He's just going to be pleased that you did what he wanted ... responded to him, and acknowledged his pathetic, bullying existence.

I'm pretty sure it's related to the differential in the amount of water each has had in the previous 37 minutes.

And here i was hoping wg made a new game mode

Vigilante mode sounds like a great idea.
Put a full tier x team vs a team consisting of players like OP no matter what tier they were playing. Give the vigilantes double credits for damage.

The system is unfortunately not working properly despite what WG claims. Dedicated team-damagers know exactly what they can get away with and as long as they stay under this threshold they won't get banned.

This means that they can leisurely troll a multitude of friendlies over a multitude of games without getting punished for it.

Any tank that shoots friendlies more than twice a day with a single shot gun is doing it on purpose. It doesn't matter what you claim but if you keep hitting friendlies it's you who needs to watch your fire. Over the past 8 years I can count the number of times I accidentally hit an ally on 4 hands.

Slightly different rules should apply for auto-cannons in the lower tiers, perhaps bullets from two-three different clips.

It also should not matter whether the hits do damage or not.
