So, the game ended and I noticed that I earned high caliber even though I did less damage than E25. I checked if he had done friendly damage but he had not done any. Just curious, any idea why I was the one who received high caliber? Game bug?

Accuracy. He most likely didn't fill the quota.

He could have hit someone in the tracks etc for a zero damage crit hit. It will still count as team damage, and void the reward from him.

High caliber don't have a accuracy demand. Tank sniper is the only one that has it with a min of 8 shots fired and 85% accuracy.

E25s never get High Calibre.  That is an actual phact, 100% verifiable.

I once lost a high caliber, because I dinged a friendly IS7 hitting his side,

shots on allies, even if they don't pen restrict you from the award.

Does this mean that even accidentally colliding with a friendly tank (like in the start up scramble) voids your chances of getting High Caliber?

I don't think ramming damage counts for this.

There's no mention about friendly fire in the description.

On the other hand it specifically says so in tank sniper description.

Only direct hits are counted. Ram or splash dmg are not.
