this game becomes unplayable with more than 1 arty in a battle

 

tnx to the recent arty buff they do so much damage again, this in combination with with the arty rebalance(HUGE! buff for arty)  makes for battles with zero fun

 

u get spotted,,, 3 arty boom, dead, this happens to entire team. how come everybody complains about obj268-4 being op when this entire class is op

 

they detrack u, damage u, kill ur crew, damage modules, all this with one shell... safe frome the red line withou any worry of retrun fire.

 

i had hoped the rebalance would actually be a good thing,... now.... i just dont get why the buffed arty again..  all in hopes of attraction new players??

 

its working,  thats for sure,  never had so many battles with 3 arty in battle as this weekend

Wait they buffed arty? And i thought it was just my M-44 that was bloody good. :confused:

They didn't buff arty. OP just likes whining about it.

Did I miss a meeting about buffs recently "looks down at his cup and smells it", and not I'm not drunk either. So I'm sure I did not miss anything.

They haven't buffed arty, although it certainly *feels* like they're doing higher rolls.

 

The main problem is the maps are suddenly more open and flatter, and arty is faster firing, more accurate, and balanced around the now out dated corridor meta.

 

With the maps as they are now, I'd rather have old arty back - prefer being walloped for most of my health once every couple of games, than persistently stunned, tracked, and gimped every 25 seconds or so

I rather think that the, 'flattening-out', of certain areas on some maps, is making it easier for others to spot for arty.

Until folk re-learn the new map designs, and 'kinks', things will improve.

Well, it is, to the point where even Wargaming thinks it's worth a look.

 

Regardless of how "OP" it is, the artillery mechanic is arguably questionable due to being a 'non-gameplay' element with consistent damage output and being 99% removed from the whole 'risk versus reward' framework (which isn't exactly uncommon in WoT; where not taking any risks often produce the best results).

 

I've been playing the SU-14-2 a bit recently, and I'm constantly surprised how much damage it dishes out. Can't really blame people for playing artillery either; matchmaking doesn't really matter and there are few maps where you're truly useless.

Well, he does do it a lot. There are far better players who play against the same vehicles, after all, with better results. Is this another outburst about self-limitations?

It is a gameplay element. You just have to think about all 15 enemies and if there is arty think about being arty safe. Some people are annoyingly good at that but the amount of cover varies per map. Then again the amount of spotting varies hugely with teams. 

 

Once on the same day i first had a team on Malinovka which died without spotting anything and they shot me without me spotting them which was not a big surprise. Couple of games later same map but Azakow on my team. It was like shooting fish in a barrel. 

 

Arty can be used to great effect but it needs a couple of decent team members to work.

Er, mate arty was buffed in 9.18 that was nearly a year ago.

I'm disappointed I haven't seen a single counter battery since the new patch even though the tracers are much more visible. Or is it against the clickerbot code to kill another clickerbot?

Oh THAT code, the one which #1 rule is to focus agressive unicum players ?

 

The problem is more that you can't one shot an arty same tiers any more ... so even if you full hit you just tell the enemy arty that now they have to move between shots.

I counter every chance i get,i must be one of the few.Anyways op i will ease your pain when i see you :)

I have to agree, honestly.

2 arty per team can be manageable on certain maps, but 3 pretty much always causes the gameplay to devolve into 'camp in cover or die'.

Depends, do you bother to notify your arty what grid square they are firing from so they can look for him or do you just complain about it like most people while not providing any useful information?

Not really finding arty a problem, most games at least, there are some I seem to be the ONLY tank on the team they see but hey it happens get in cover or keep mobile and unpredictable. I agree a cap on two would be nice though I feel it would be be better for keeping games moving and not turning into a camp fest

It seems the arty class players are returning to WoT in more numbers after the patch 1.0 than the other tank class players. I think arty should be capped to 2 per team. 3 artys is just frustrating for other players in the battle :angry:

The problem with 3 arty per team is you get this perma-stun effect like a never ending barrage of bombs dropping on you which you simply never get the chance to escape. You get stunned and tracked by the first SPG, instantly repair/heal then get hit, stunned and tracked yet again by the 2nd SPG before you had the chance to escape... your stunned crew slowly recover and slowly repair the tracks but then the 3rd arty hits you and you're once again, stunned and tracked with the 1st arty now about 10 seconds from reloading to hit you again so ya on certain maps it's pure cancer at least with just 2 SPG the chance to heal and move on is there just about.

It's not a case of "well don't be in the open then" that's a stupid comment and where you might get cover from arty you might get no little to no cover from conventional enemy tanks or just a useless unworkable spot.
