tbh I wish I never bought it, it is a fun tank but lacks penetration to use it as money maker and it isnt even able to fire HE :/ And I didnt want to buy a premium tank to start using premium shells....
Wish I bought the mini-maus or T 14 instead :(

I have to agree, It's God awful and should be able to fire HE at the least. my KV can rip the churchill apart and I feel sorry for the guy driving it!  :Smile-playing:

Only advantage of T-14 is the higher caliber gun + HE, otherwise you get less PEN, slower RoF, more DAM, altogether less armor - especially the hull is nothing to be proud of :)

The Churchill isnt that bad.  Here are my stats which I think are average.

Spoiler

Also the kv can rip most tanks apart.

It is the PzKpfw 38H735 (f), the "mini maus".

Just to clarify the "maus nicks" for tanks.

Maus = Maus - The top of the german heavy line upon release.
Mini Maus = VK4502P Ausf B, since it was the preceeding tank to the Maus in the tech tree, upon release.

Micro Maus = PzKpfw 38H735 (f) aka Hotchkiss tank, since it ruled the Low tier battles in the beta and just after release. It received a nerf around 0.6.4, where the RoF was reduced, and its matchmaking spread increased to include Battle Tier 3 battles.

I find the Churchill to be a fun tank but even with its reduced tier spread it oftern comes across tanks it just cant hurt from some (or all) angles so a little more pen would be nice...

that said i did read about it before i bought mine so expected and accept the problem.. i got it as a 'relax and enjoy' tank that was cheap to run anyway

I have played it many times on the test server since the start of alpha, but the test server and norm server are a world apart!

You buy a Premium tank to get lots of credits it's as simple as that its Lame :P

I had churchill for 33 battles and enjoyed it so long as I didn't come up against tier 5s.  It kills scouts with ease but the little 6 pounder is not enough.  I have been 1-shotted by KV-152 every time I came up against one.  So Good for tanks below it's tier but because of lack of HE Shells a lot less use against higher tiers.  Good fun though, but just didn't get me any credits or xp.

well that's a silly statement, the 152mm can kill m6 or a kv 1s in one shot sometimes, if you would get smoked by one 107mm shell from kv than you would have a problem.

PS:kv rules the battlefield until you drive it, than you see it's not so easy to handle, plus i don't know why ppl think that the 152mm is such a great weapon, trust me if you see a kv with the first turret and the 122mm gun you should be more concirned than when you see a kv with the second turret and the 152mm

Churchill infantry tank with 57mm had HE. There was an old dude named Gerry Chester, a WW2 veteran tanker, who told lot of interesting stories about Churchills in service, probably published some, too.

minimaus is which tank ?
I woted for HE, because it is needed. But I cant understand why you lack on pen of churchil ? IRL it was very undergunned tank.
But have AVRE version, it will be surely much greater fun.

I have the Churchill, I semi like it, but it really needs a little more penetration thats correct.
According to the stats it has 83-138mm penetration.
A KV with high tower has 95 armor up front turret, side turret, side and front of hull are 75mm armor.

Looking at the numbers I would say I should have at least a 75% of penetration the KV when shooting it in the side, but reality tells me that is not true.
I like the KV, I always put vent/rammer/GLD (high rate of fire, without gld the reticle hasn't had time to focus yet before next round is loaded) on it.

Normally I'm happy if 1 in every 10 shots actually damages the KV.
10mm more armor penetration would be good for Churchill.

I love the 152mm because of a few reasons:
- Most important, fear factor. I can stop 5-6 tanks from tier 3-4-5 because theya re all afraid I will 1-shoot them. (even though I just fired and now I have to reload 30 seconds...)
- The ability to actually 1-shoot people. My aim is to take the least amount of damage in a battle. You fire at me, I fire at you. You're dead, I received 1 hit. I can do that 5 times before my tank is dead.

However, I just mounted the 122mm and small turret on my KV.
I'll give it a try, might be fun if people think I'm a stock KV when I hit them with 450 damage.
Although I think I will die much faster because people are not afraid, hence they are more proned to actually attack/circle me especially when I am facing more than 1 enemy.

Thnx for the tip dude, will try it tomorrow after work  :)

The reason why KV/152 is a powerful tank is because IT CAN DAMAGE ANYTHING. I just killed a T30 right in the turret with my KV. Also killed IS-4 frontally a while ago.

Have added rammer/vent/GLD to churchill to see what happens. I use rammer/vent/vert stab on T34 but there is no vert stab for churchill? dunno why will see how it go's :)
