Hi everyone! So when I go to places like the rubble pile at K5 on Paris or the windows at D4 on Ensk and hit shift for sniper mode my gun goes up in the air. What is the deal with that? How I fix? I'd send a ticket to support but I prefer to rely on the inscrutable wisdom in this forum. Please help.

Also: Surprise dual topic. If Wargaming put these coal piles on Ensk to remove the kill zone area, why did they flatten Fjords to do the opposite?

Please debate thoroughly, thank you

Yeah, I've noticed that sky sniping bug too... or is it a 'feature' like Windows has.... :sceptic:

It's due to the proximity with the wall and that very same wall blocking the camera's view, so it tries to zoom out in the most peculiar way.

Long time bug, no fix because WG.

I remember it being mentioned before, it just seems to occur a lot more often now. I'll have to keep an eye on it, it happens when there are no obstacles before my line of sight, but maybe there is something behind my that triggers it....

Since it happened me sitting in a bush at middle of the field , I can only conclude it's bloody annoying trying to regain one's bearings while having to make a snap-shot.

Yes, it happens.  It's pretty frustrating in most tanks, but an easy work around (pull back a few meters - EXCEPT in Swedish TDs - which can't move back fast enough due to being in their unique tilted-bum-up-in-air-with-strange-suspension-configuration mode).  I presume it's a bug that will get fixed in the next release or two.

I've had that issue a very long time... doubt they will fix it. pulling back isn't much of an option when you are at that sweet rubble pile on Paris, you have to be up close to it to shoot O-Ni's in the lower plate all day :)

hit shift for sniper mode

Don't then.

It only seems to affect people who use shift to toggle in and out of sniper mode, if you use the scroll wheel then your aim point won't be on something you can't aim at.

I never use Shift, and still experience the issue.  As you scroll into enlarge the target, the view just suddenly changes to point at the sky.  Scrolling in and out doesn't change anything, you actually have to change position.  As mentioned by someone else, it's not always possible or practical to move .. so, yeah, it can be damned annoying.  I have no evidence to support this, but it SEEMS to be a problem when you're quite close to a physical barrier to view range (wall, rock etc).

It has been there for years,

not sure if they can fix it.

I've never noticed it before 1.0.

I've had the problem previously, but now it seems to occur every battle at least once.

I thought it was me - happens a lot in my UDES just as you want to stop and fire! End up with gun in air spinning in place totally disorientated (and then usually dead)!

That's what I thought too.  It happens a LOT in the UDES and STRV1.  But I have had the same thing happen occaisionally with Borsig and Skorpion.
