Hi,

So along with the new maps, many of the old maps have been re-worked with new vegetation etc. and no doubt a lot of the old spotting bushes are gone, but no doubt there's some new ones to take advantage of. So if you've got any tips and tricks, please share.

Also I've seen a few unexpected things that have caught me out so share them too.

I'll upload a quick example that left me pondering. So tier 9 arty the size of a barn can hide in a couple of bushes and not be seen until scout/tier 9 HT are literally right on top of him ? (skip to 9min 30 sec)

This one is interesting...

The river in Redshire is lined with bushes which apparently have super camo. or the T44 has super camo.

Check out from 12min 30sec. The T44 vanishes, even with a tier 10 113 just near him, a tank with decent spotting range. Ok my IS3 is a bit blind, but I don't spot him until I break the 50m auto detection range. I wasn't expecting that !

fallen trees provide insane amount of camo

on Overlod i have hide 50b several times on that ridge closer to center of map.

knockout tree. sit in that 'bush', outspot enemy meds or lights 200m away and shoot them before fallin back.

previous. you couldnt park a decent camo medium in those bushes without geting spoted

Not-fallen trees also provide camo after the 1.0 introduction. Can't explain how but that "island" in the Southeast corner on Westfield has stupid concealment values when you find yourself going there and spotting tanks at 200m away from you (without getting spotted back) without knocking a single tree. Don't know if this is how the game is supposed to work.

Prokhorovka has become one of the most annoying maps as there are some of these "magic" bushes.

90% the camping team at the long road will win.

I think one side(can you say north or is the minimap turned ?) has an advantage there.

Lost several games by trying to attack just to find myself beeing shot by unscouted tanks at 100-200m and bombed out from arty...

There seems to be some shrubbery going on with even normal bushes - some seem to give more camo than others.

I even have a feeling that you can now drive the whole road in the roadside bushes and not be seen.

I lost a game where a RHM basically killed everything on the 1 line without ever getting spotted until he reached the north end.

Yes different bushes & tree types do give different degrees of cover!

There is a chart around somewhere on the forums, that gives all the values for the different ones.

Good luck trying to identify which one is which tho...

One comment I will make, about when you reverse back until the bush obscures the target, is.

I find that you have to reverse back slightly further than that, for the bush mechanic to work.

Also any gaps in the bush that allow one of the tanks spotting points to become visable will allow you to be seen aswell.

There is definitely a Wargaming article out there showing where the spotting points are on tanks.

As long as they are covered by the bush, you can have other bits of your tank sticking out, & you will be fine.

Cheers

There are some really dodgy bushes in 1.0. I have been in some that seem to give way too much camo and I have fired at some tanks 150-200 meters away and never been spotted. Then there are some bushes that I haven't even gotten into and been spotted.

Slowly trying to work out some of these god bushes or devil bushes.

And before someone chimes in and says your camo rating is too low. I have been exclusively playing my LT-100 or Type 62. Both have BIA, full camo crew, vent, camo paint, SA and recon, well recon is about 73% on one tank.

I would share some of these bushes, but then I have to fight other players to use them and getting bored of people stealing my assistance or good spotting locations. Call me selfish, but meh, 1v29 :P

Mentioned it somewhere else, repeating here.

There's a lot of bushes that don't cover all the way to the ground. Being there is mostly fine, reaching there from a lower location can mean getting spotted.

But is it right, say, for a tier 8 arty size of a house (GW Tiger P) can sit in a small bush unspotted by tier 8 Skorpion G TD and shot gun him in the face ?

Bushes are fubar, it's completely broken since 1.0, pretty much anything in those bushes, even heavies with no camo is able to outspot tanks with massive view range, it's just another nerf for mediums and lights, and just a buff for noob campers.

I've had my lights with like 500m view range outspotted by like tier 10 heavies, because they are sitting behind the 1.0 OP bushes.
