I don't like this map. It got worse. What do you think about it? Discuss.

How is it better? If you have a good spotter, then it's a great game for the team in the north. The much open ground to cover for the south. And the td's are well hidden.

I liked the previous version more.

Now TDS can easily camp in the trees along the red-line with bushes and hard cover, locking down entire side of the map, and the guys wanting to attack simply can't.

 

Though easy assist damage is had when you spot enemies trying to attack down a flank and you have 2 TDs behind.

 

The ability to easily lock down a flank with no counter is a bad idea.

 

Kind of like the 2 new unflankable positions on Cliff that both sides god.

Both being able to lock down all enemy movements on high-ground. 

Won games while being down 5-6 tanks by camping there more or less alone. That is just bad game design.

Yes, I exploited the position, and will do so, but that doesn't make the design good.

Meh. Didn't like the old map, so far don't like the new map. 6 to one, half a dozen the other.

I like the new Erlenberg. I find it more dynamic, especially thanks to the city that allows to move while being in cover.

Some design choices are 'questionable', at least on assault, but it's probably a matter of being stuck in the old meta. Other stuff seems to be working out well - and I believe map changes are mentioned as planned 'soon'. I consider some of the map changes a bit 'experimental', but I sort of like where many of them are going. :)

with this map I have turned off assault, my favourite game mode simply because I do not think this map has any redeeming features and so I can reduce the number of times I am forced to play it,

 

if wg listened to the test server feedback they would never have introduced it

 

edit  similarly now turned off encounter because I am fed up with mines encounter being an almost auto lose for south spawn and again WG just refuse to listen to their players

I would say it is better  because instead of one part of the map being a terrible place to go they made all the map a terrible place to go.

I don't like the way it looks. Too much snow and too much castle etc... But going into the centre at least gives a different aspect to gameplay and can be good fun.
Against that, I have now played assault about 15 times, and won every one as attacker, and lost all as defender. Could just be a statistical fluke I guess.

I am curious to know their map plan

 

on other new maps being drawn up, and on redesigned map like fishermans bay they have released map plans with plans of what they are trying to achieve

 

if they did something similar with erlenberg, or fjords for that matter can anyone link me
