Looking for advice from people who played french TD line

im grinding this line as my only TD line and im focusing on campaign missions

on my original account i tried to keep tier6 and tier10 so i could complete '260 missions more easily because some of the missions are not hard numbers but others have multiplier of HP etc. (there is better to have tier6 to complete instead of trying with tier10)

i never played french TDs, i heard its pain in the [edited]but tell me, which of the 3 (tier6, tier7 and tier8) are kind of cool

when i saw tier6, it  looks ugly AF and tier8 has autoloader....

it's been years, I blocked out those memories, they were true suffering especially that piece of crap at tier 7

Yes tier 7 was the worst, however the last 2 ones might have an autoloader now, so could be less painful.

With the crew train discount of tomorrow, I will play my first battle in the tier 8.

Played t7, didnt enjoy the grind, didnt hate it either.

To be honest I wouldn't keep any of them for personal missions. T5 is kind of decent, big alpha and huge gun arc. T6 is genuine crap. T7 is just Jagdpanther but worse, it may have some armor but massive weak spots render it usseless and 100mm gun is just horrible.

Now the T8 - T10. I only played the T8 and T9 before the buffs (in other words before the autoloaders were added). They are all basically the same vehicle (or platform) with narrow gun arc, bad reverse speed, decent frontal armor with huge weakspots, mediocre gun depression and derpy guns. The T8 was especially bad with the bloom values, the T9 tried to fixed that but still failed.

French TD line is probably still the worst one even after the buffs and changes. If you want a T6 TD get something like SU-100 or Hellcat. If you want T8 then RHM, ISU or perhaps a Charioteer.

I've played several French TDs, and IMO the only one worth keeping is the FCM Pak 40.  It's slow, it's cumbersome, it's got no armour and poor camo.  BUT.  It's got an anti-aircraft gun mounted on it.  The sheer joy of one-shotting mediums from 500m away is ... well ... worth all the pain.

Pak is the abbreviation for Panzerabwehrkanone, i.e. 'anti-tank gun'.

Wouldn't touch the French TD line with a ten-foot pole. The numbers, or rather the lack of them, seen in battle is hint enough. If you want an assault gun, the 268 v4 is probably the superior option - while still being able to do play as your average TD.

I know what Pak means.  In the real world, some FCM 36s were captured by the Germans from the French.  Being too slow for the Germans, they stripped off the turret and mounted anti-aircraft guns on them and called them tank destroyers.  Officially the Pak40 variant is a German tank.
It's still a hoot, however pedantic one gets about the name.

i can tell you.

its about fair play where your prehistoric super-viewrange camping machine does not give a chance to anyone to sneak up to it. not mentioning that people on tier3 are mostly new to the game who does not have idea what hit them or filthy sealclubers

French TDs are not worth it, Foch B only work against paper tank or you spam gold defo not as good as it was hyped to be. Grind to it is horrible only S35 CA is genuinely good if not broken.

basicaly foch b was made for one clip, so dont be upset if you clip in all your 6 and die. its still good and better than lots of tanks here.
