This is glacier (i guess. don't care for the real englisch name)... Its a awful boring and clunky map.

This is why!

Middle = WAY TO OPEN.... you can't do jack there.

North/East = takes forever and leads RIGHT into camper spots.

South/West = takes even longer due to jagged hill roads and snow terrain - also its VERY narrow so a wreck can end your journey any time.

Basically you better camp your shitty base or you get shot from any angle or get stuck trying to advance. Its the new prokhorovka (which after SEVEN YEARS finally seems to work<.< wtf)

Cause i'm the guy creating maps for how many years now, working for wargaming... I KNOW PEOPLE DON'T WANT TO CRAWL INTO ENEMY FIRE! (duh!)

Middle = another hill. A spotting point, but no sniping point! (no bushes, only nosepokes possible)

North/East = bases are closer so you don't waste your entire life to approach, also MOAR cover so there ain't 300m open ground to cover (srly wg!)

South/West = roads are flat and ACTUAL ROAD... so a heavy can use it too (remember those slow things!? apparently not)

Since the map now has quicker roads... the middle offers more cover ... and the base is STILL quite open for artillery fire... there is a reason to camp less!

Doesn't that sound like ...... i don't know........ HALF DECENT MAP DESIGN!? ........ *shrugs* huh!? HUH!? ....

yes it does. im right. 100%. I give the map... 6-12 months before being reworked.

Cause its new and they can't admit mistakes this quickly, but it will happen. No doubt.

This said: good job on the other maps WG. No complaints there! Credit where credit is due ♥

I actually love this map, plenty for each class to do. I particularly like it in light tanks as  viewrange, camo and manoeuvreability actually help. Middle only a death zone if you don't know what to do there.

I quite like it so far, and I don't think the middle is too open, I've been getting good results camping that middle island with my heavy tanks.  You can do a bit of spotting there and get side shots into the flankers.

Why do they call it a 'Glacier', when it's obviously a frozen lake ?

Damnit....I actually like to be in that death zone....... But somehow it makes other zones a death zone in my case.

I want more maps like this:medal:

Glacier world surprisingly well.
the only problematic areas are the ones behind cap with mods of bushes and hard cover. Flat it out and remove with bushes.

No need to turn this map into a corridor fest as you propose.

BS...one doesn't kill a mosquito at night by blowing up your house.

Balancing is not something binary, is it's not either a 1 or 0, nor black or white.

And that is what irritates most folks. Lots of changes, nerfs or buffs or reworks, are pulled in to extreme's where they shouldn't have and where it should have had too little or nothing is done.

Same with maps.

No more corridors > competently flattend empty fields = as blowing up your room with c4 to kill that mosquito.

I think Glacier is ok when your team plays to help and win the game. Going middle when none of your teammates go Southeast makes the middle a real death zona because the enemy team will have someone camping those hills and bushes around that zone and you can easily get obliterated.

Played 3 or 4 matches there so far but the teams got stamped to death and didn't really managed to do anything helpful from either spawn. The only time I had a Light Tank and went middle doing some spotting, noone was shooting and I got balanced by a camping LT across the map in those southeast bushes.

No the map is fine all flanks are exposed from the middle which allows light tanks hull down vehicles and tanks with decent gun depression to shoot at anything goint to the other flanks.

The hill is useless since you can get shot from more than several places including the middle.

id rather not have my wz-132 forced into a corridor.

Middle is a death zone? Dominate the middle, win the map. Best games I've had has been hull down in the middle just farming assist on their base campers. Only thing that seems to work so far. North and the 0 lane hill road seems to be a waste of time.

I find it one of the better maps so far actually. Moan about Paris or Mines or any other unimaginatively 1 dimensional or tiny maps. Glacier has a lot of options to explore and work some sort of attack/defense from throughout and so far I have not found any reason to say this map is not balanced for both teams and any side, just a good map.

It's a frozen port, not a lake. Hence the giant battleships.

It's called Glacierbecause of the glaciers floating around in it.

Pretty sure once a part of a glacier brakes away from it's land source into the sea or water, "floating" it becomes an ice berg. The glacier is the part that remains on land

Either way, i's still a port. Not a lake :)

You keep saying port. I wasn't going to drink tonight but that does it. I'm blaming you, though I don't drink port tbh, so I'll just guzzle several pints of the black stuff instead. Thanks in a way, and now is as good a time to pour my first as any. I hope I don't reset crew all over the place and totally trash my game while heavily inebriated and full of "good ideas" but again, I'm just going to blame you for that too. :great:
