Is it any good now that it has been remade as a tier 9? I know I make alot of these type of threads but the best feedback is from people currently playing the tanks :)

It's quite all right. It's definitely more interesting to play than your average TD.

It's very similar to 268v4, by that I mean you're fast with shitty traverse, armor is the same as old 263, gun has good soft stats and penetration, everything else is average or crap.

So basically it's an assault TD that usually fights at medium to short range. Unfortunately your lower plate is easy to penetrate and easy to hit at medium to short range, so your ability to hide said lower plate will massively influence the amount of fun.

Play it like an assault gun, not a TD and it performs.

You will bounce enough enemy shells if u can hide your lower plate and sides.

The long reload hurts though.

I like it. Armor layout is 100% the same as when it was tier X. So it's fairly strong still as a yolo wagon if you will vs lower tiers. Tho open top vs arty and all that. But dispersion is worse off. So it's not a fantastic support TD. But still works at med range if you have targets to hit. But up close with support it's where it's most effective. DPM is a bit of downer tho. But the pen is good enough so you don't have to press 2 constantly vs tier X. Gun depression can be lacking. So at times you have to drive to far up to get a shot on. Exposing the lower plate. And that's butter vs most guns. So as long as you keep that hidden, it can hold it's own fairly well.

But overall the tank is good fun.

Completely agree with the above words. I am grinding through it now and this is a good summary. Overall I am having fun with it.

im just about to waste all my free exp to get rid of it. Armour isn't the slightest bit reliable, accuracy is awful, traverse is crap

I like it. I dont know how it performed as tier X but as tier 9 is ok. I dont like traverse and reload but it is just fine. Camo is realy good.

it's not unplayable, but it's definitely worse than what used to be as tier 10.

my first tier 9 TD ever played, marking that tank was absolutely enjoyable !

i loved it as a Tier X ... haven't touched it since the patch so dunno how it is now. i kinda want 2 keep the memory alive and not ruin it with what it has become

From my experience, a hulldown Obj 263 is a nightmare to deal with. Only "weakspot" when its lower plate is hidden is the tiny flat part between the front chassis and the casemate (?), and even that is 250mm thick. Then again, its also a very low and flat tank. Tall tanks could shoot down onto your engine deck, provided they have slightly higher terrain, and HE derp tanks will ruin your day. With all the people shooting the gun mantlet, expect the gun to get damaged a lot too.

Personally, I think its a strong Assault TD. Not really a sniper due to the huge lower plate, but if you can find some tank carcass/terrain feature to hide your lower place you become practically invincible to kinetic rounds.

Same here, sold mine immediately after the patch. The old 263 was great, no need to ruin that memory.

It's like a T95 that trades alpha+DPM for speed (not to be confused with mobility), pretty strong but quite different from what it used to be.

One issue to mention is the rather lackluster premium ammo, 300mm APCR isn't that great for a T9 TD (and mostly useless when you have 270mm AP as standard), against superheavies (including 268v4) it is somewhat limited.
