Geez, enough already. Seriously had enough of idiot Arty drivers doing team damage. I know they don't get the best deal in exp and credits but seriously when a team mate is nose to nose with enemy, DON'T SHOOT.

Sorry, rant over.

At a minimum they should at least reduce the friendly stun timer by half.

Even me as an avid arty player cannot disagree with your frustration.

Some arty players do not mark targets allowing you time to pull back.

But on the flip side..... I mark target only to find a green tank is closing on my intended victim just as I fire....

It seems that WG has modified arty team damage counter with 1.0. Now it seems that stunning allies counts toward getting banned ( i have witnesses 2 games where allies piggy has only stunned ally (no team damage at all during the game), and turned blue). In other words, those piggies that masturbate on allies without hesitation will either be banned or have to change their ways soon.

If you mark your target (obviously you will have to be creative and type it on the chat or send the piggy normal mail or what ever) and the scumbag does not move you have every right to take the shot...according to almost every arty-enthusiast in forums. I believe this works both ways.

It always makes me chuckle every time they say "sorry" when it's blatantly obvious they knew they would damage/stun you.

But yes, it's annoying enough getting shot/stunned by enemy arty, nevermind "friendly arty" joining in.

And it happens quite frequently too, I would say around every 10 games or so it's either me or someone else on my team that I actually see being affected by this.

Spoiler

That just gave me an idea... what if WG made it so all arty MUST mark their firing area with T, otherwise they can't fire their gun?

That way, if you don't move out of the marked area, it's your own fault.

What an excellent idea. If you also add that WG would remove team damage counters from arties alltogether so that they would not be have to worry about those ”accidental” shots that land on allies. Good job there!

Urgh. It sounds good, but there are obvious difficulties. With SPG fire, SPG players are subject to the same rules as for players of other vehicles for any actual damage, but (this is pre 1.0 ) not for stun. It will be interesting to see whether the rules have indeed changed in WoT 1.0+. I will open another ticket.... hang on a few indeterminate time uniits... "I'll be back".

Totally agree. Friendly dmg is bad but also that stupid stun is beyond idiocy. I lost today 1k+ hp due to friendly arty stun and track and that focker got only penalty for the 152 dmg he done on me. Assistance to enemy team should be also calculated in to team dmg and exp/credit penalty formula.

I'll ask an honest question, let's see if you can answer it honestly.

Which class of vehicle is responsible for more team kills and team damage than any other?

If we speak intentionally, Tank Destroyers.

Why?

This is a class that's originally designed to sit back and wait for an opportunity to arrive, far more team dependant than a class that can both blindfire, shoot anywhere across the map and splash, all at its own pace and independant of others if it chooses to.

This results in frustration from said players, boredom and team dependancy often create messages like "noob scout go spot"

Often these players have been so dulled they've failed to realize they need to relocate within draw range, and all they see from their initial positions is their own spotter.

I've been teamkilled maybe twice by arty. At least a dozen times by TD's in comparison. The consistent high alpha doesn't make it any better. 750hp really hurts your chances of further contribution to your team. A random 200 damage splash not so much.

I cannot remember the last time I was shot by other teammate than arty or when was the last time i was called noob for not spotting and also i am not sure if i remember a day (when i have played more than two games) when i was not hit by allied arty. Perhaps it is a difference in playstyle but when you are not humping the redline, allied arty is almost as dangerous as enemy. Sure it usually does not kill you or take a lot of hp but even taking out loader while your medkit is on cooldown is enough to ruin your game.

They are not your targets. It is not you spotting them. They should not fall back. You shouldn't shoot. You are there to assist not kill-steal.

As a regular arty player,

I am totally in agreement with you OP.

If you see a friendly facehugging an enemy..

HOLD YOUR FRIGGING FIRE..

and on the other hand..

If you see that your arty flagged the enemy for fire..

DO NOT GO AND FACE HUG!

Both ways..
