I am deeply disappointed the moderator decided to close my post. I felt my point was relevant to the present and not 2013 when the artillery thread was started. I also feel the fact it was just closed and not even moved speaks more of censorship than moderation.

The mod that closed it said

" Due to the high number of Artillery threads, we want discussions to take place in the main pinned thread here."

Does that answer your question?

in simple terms, Mods want all the **** about a certain subject, in the same place. It cuts down on moderating and makes it easier to ignore. Its not you they are `picking` on, just a global rule with regards certain topics.

I am immensely astonished that you believe yourself and your opinion to be so important that you should open another arty thread. Maybe just post in THIS THREAD where your opinion will be ignored?

No, really, it will really be ignored but that's fine as well. Your thread was a generic arty thread. Below in quotes is what you actually wrote.

Since WG flattened the maps and added new cosmetic features which I think looks terrific, is there anywhere thats actually safe from artillery now? I tried it and felt I can get to just about anyone especially now there is more windows and holes in walls which have also been lowered. Being able to shoot arty through windows and killing or damaging players through walls really is a bit silly and maybe needs looked at.

Firstly, discussing moderator actions is against the forum rules so don't hold your breath for this thread to stay open.

Secondly, at one time the forum was full of arty threads, at least half the threads on the first page were variations on the same theme so the mods took the step of creating a one-stop pinned thread for all such discussions where like-minded people could post their thoughts and the rest of us could avoid reading the same couple of points repeatedly with the only variation coming from the choice of swear words employed by the poster.

Your thread wasn't closed because of censorship, it was closed with a link to the thread where such discussion is allowed. If you'd posted in the arty thread in the first place, you could continue your discussion without interruption. Your belief that your point is worth its own thread is immaterial - their forum, their rules.

Their forum, their rules. Whether that's censorship or not is quite irrelevant.

They just want it all in that thread to get all the whiners in there to whine at each other while they ignore the thread completely - which is quite understandable.
It's a cesspit of entitlement and QQ.

So is it dictatorship when you get fined for speeding? You live in a country and didn't follow the rules you get a slap on your wrist. same applies to forums. It's basically do as they say or gtfo.

No. That's normal practice in every forum when every muppet feels the need to open a thread of their own for the same topic for the 1000th time.
