Personally, I'm a little tired of dead players spamming the board endlessly.

Yes, I realise there is a 'block this muppet for the battle' option, but often you don't get the chance when furiously clicking.

So, is it time to for dead men to stop talking?

What say you?

No, they say the funniest things.

And if it's just spam it's easy to click on the actual spam to stop it.

I say we call in one of those paranormal tv shows and find out why the spirits are angry. One knock for poor MM; two for Russian bias.

No, it still may have usefull informations. But there should be an algorithm preventing people to spam the minimap. Not that hard to do...

No, I've had some useful info from dead team-mates. Not everyone deserves to be silenced, just those who misbehave.

Players who are still alive seem just as much an issue to me as those that have died, I don't see tackling dead people specifically from spamming the chat as sufficient reason why the rest of us should be denied nice things. Ultimately the only way you can stop people being bell ends in the chat is to turn it off completely.

Instead I'd like to see the mute function made more obvious/easy to use if possible and muting someone automatically count towards a chat ban - if large numbers of people don't want to hear someone's contribution to the chat then clearly it would save everyone time and bother to prevent that person from using it at all.

I say no. It can be helpful to receive hints on what to do if you're a noob who hasn't the faintest and ends up alone or nearly alone. Educational, too.

Hm. Filtering out non-useful or insulting stuff, yes, but....

No but a 30 to 60 seconds auto block for more than 3 pings/chats ina row would be useful.

There is a "block for this battle" option, just use that and move on with your life.

Many, many times this.

There should be a limit in all honesty. I'm sure I've been guilty of map pinging the sh** out of a battle on occasion when I dared believe some teammates had my back and so on etc and so forth but ya, there should be a limit to map clicks when you're dead, like 10 or 20 max. This post reminded me of this Claus post on YouTube I saw earlier through boredom at "work" lol. I thought it was funny and highlighted the pingers at their worst. Turn it up for full effect

Dont mind them talking but the mappinging is getting out of control

I don't think that particular idea is a good one. There are legitimate reasons for many messages, and it would probably lead to abuse.

I don't understand why it isn't counted as chat spam, and then blocked for so many seconds. Such an easy fix!

No.
WG should just put more effort into taking out the troublemakers in general. No need to further castrate the game when it's just a certain group of players that need moderation.

Is there, realistically, another option?

Yes it was mentioned earlier.

Use the "Block for this battle" option or the "Add to blacklist" option.

Both of which are available in game.

Indeed, and if you had read my opening post in full you would be aware that I had already mentioned that.

Give them a 30 second window to pass on, in team chat, any useful information that they have, after they've been killed. Then, 'The dead don't talk'.

That'd cut out the vast majority of the abuse/accusations/hatred, in one go.

The spam map-pinging should be addressed separately.
