They're all pretty damn expensive for what you're getting in return

The logo inflates the price by a lot.

Alienware is the equivalent of walking around with bland tommy hillfiger logo clothes

If you are a yuppie, then go for it. If not then build your own for half the cost or have some guy do it for you.

Well, they do have some decent laptops. But Alienware desktops are just not interesting currently yeah.

True dat, laptops are a different thing.

There's cheaper alternatives but they always lack something like good built in speakers.

Quality control and regular new releases strongly go towards alienware, aesthetics as an addee bonus for a portable device.

But yeah, a tower is a different story, a bundle kit even more so. The best pc speaker for me was sold a decade ago for instance, nowhere to be found these days. Pure aesthetics won't cover pure lack of bass power and sound spectrum. Then we have the dozens of other little bits that have to be right for you, not just any consumer. You may want a specified monitor size or shape for instance, not just what's deemed "optimal" for the average gamer.

Never buy this type of prebuild PC.

Usually those PCs have a potato motherboard made by ECS with missing features and low end chipset, potato PSU made some OEM manufacturer  and the layout  of the case makes it  really hard (if not impossible)  for future upgrade.

If you want to buy a prebuild PC  try to find a local store / or company that builds the PC with  normal parts (and maybe they let you choose some of the parts)
Something like this :  https://www.cyberpowersystem.co.uk/system/Infinity-X66-Elite-Gaming-PC

===================

Alienware uses good PSU’s and motherboards though. But, it’s still way too expensive and the are better, smaller prebuilts out there for a much more appealing price.

To add to this, PSU's used by most OEM's used to be Delta, which were and probably still are good (though they don't sell their products publicly they build for a lots).

However pre-built PC's tend to be hugely overpriced and without much thought put into upgrade potential.

They know most consumers tend to go for that expensive graphics card, or CPU, and they skimp on the rest, while making you pay through the nose for the brand.

On a sidenote, some advice for PC's :

1 - never skimp on the PSU, always get a high quality one (that should handle at 50% load your entire system when it is in full load) that can handle a surge and also buy a surge protector just in case

2 - do not skimp on the kb, Microsft Natural ones used to be amazing, but don't buy insanely overpriced either (your wrists will thank you)

3 - do not skimp on the monitor, S-IPS rocks, TN blows (your eyes will thank you)

4 - never buy a brand new socket/ddr standard/gpu. They tend to be overpriced and buggy .... let the technology get stable for a few months.

Far better to Build your own if you can you will save a fortune and get the PC you want not some over priced gimmicky plastic box of crap you will get from AlienDellWare
