So folks, It's sunday and a day of relfection, as the mind winds down some thoughts pop into one's bonce to fill the void, todays one was, how did you come up with your in game name ?

Mine was fairly boring, I was'nt ready for the question and when prompted just thought, my name, year of birth  and then I needed something else so used "tank" , I thought to myself I can always change it later - but it's not worth the money if you ask me.

So fellow tankers, what's the story behind your name ?  There are some people who's names may not be what they intended, yes I'm lookin at you somegras, cool dude and nice guy that you are :P

Mine is a mispronunciation of a Duel masters card, called Azaghast, tyrant of Shadows. I had always pronounced it as my nick, and when I found out it was wrong, I just kept it, as an original name.

'Olias of Sunhillow', is the first solo album of my favourite singer, Jon Anderson.

Jon Anderson was the founder, and lead singer of the band Yes.

I used to go by the name of, 'Moorglademover', which was the flying ship from the story of, 'Olias of Sunhillow'.

This, is the album cover, with The Moorglademover, on the front.

Agent 327 is a dutch comic series by Martin Lodewijk that I read a lot when I was a kid. It's a hilarious comic about the not so powerful dutch secret agency. I can highly recommend it.

He's a really cool character and besides that the name is usually available so I have that name a lot of places.

There have also been made a very short movie with him though one should really know the characters to get the most out of it.

A ThinGun is a stealth weapon carried by Agent Cormac in the astonishingly good sci fi series set in the Polity universe, by Neal Asher.

It's from the pub. Thanks, I'll have another.

In seriousness, years ago I thought for a name to a forum to be hosted for my gaming group and came up with another.net, as in something else in internet and has stuck as a gaming nick too.

Now that is a nice trailer for you nick.

My nich is a compilation of shotcuts of my past, with the intention to be uniqe for many games. In 2011 I got stuck here.

:teethhappy: It definitely isn't what some people might believe it is, even though I am dutch. :P Either way, I stole this nickname from someone I met online on Halo (the PC version). He would hide in patches of grass, and when someone aimed at him it you would see the name "some grass" hovering over a patch of grass. 15 year old me found this hilarious, and I've used this nickname ever since. The single S is because I used this nickname for my PSN account, but "somegrass" was already taken.

I originally picked this name for.. uhm.. Soldier of Fortune or SoF 2.. can't quite remember which, it had online play which felt pretty neat back in the day. I've used other nicks as well, in other games, also as character names like Raven, for instance. I went on to use this name most of the time in Wolfenstein ET. Though I also used a number of other nicks, as it cost nothing to change them. One was MutedKickedBanned (don't ask!) which I later shortened to MKB. Some people thought it meant MostKilledBoy....

Browarszky

PS. Note the special 'z' in the spelling! :)

Long story short its an old family story ...My grandmother read it and and went the other way as the bomb exploded. My family would not be here now only for this.

My name, for this which has turned into a specialised SPG account, is self-explanatory. I have had chats with German players in-game who have asked about it :)

For other accounts, I choose names appropriate to the "nationality" of the tank.
