To face the fact, the lastes premium tanks are beyond bad. They are utter crap (pardon my french).

The samoa is supposed to be a heavy tank but it has no kind of meaningful armour. The only feature with this tank to slightly resemble a heavy is the bad speed and and even worse traverse. It's a pure support tank, not unlike the Lorrain 40 (which is a superior tank imao).

The ELC Even 90 is so terrible it breaks the scale. Totally useless and has very little or no impact of the game. Read tier X.

The Nutcracker comes in the same category: cannon fodder for tier x.

And no, these tanks are not balanced. They are way underbalanced and absolutely not worth the money.

Suggestion:

If WG would let us rent premium tanks for a period of time, we could test them for ourselves and then make make a decision if we want to buy them or not.

WG would would earn real money for the rental periods and we could save money by not purchasing undesired tanks.

Cause there's to many OP premium tanks already in game

Not sure if the policy has changed or not but the "premium tanks" were supposed to be the same or slightly worse then the tech tree equivilant

Some tanks are op, others are fun to play, a few are both.

Whatever tank they sell for real cash, they do inform us about the stats and usually there are reviews on youtube about it as soon as it hits the test server ^^

I disagree strongly with the OP.

When WoT started SerB said all tier VIII premiums should be inferior to their tech tree equivalent. So long as this rule was in place WoT had a degree of balance. As soon as they put some idiot in charge who decided against this rule we got the unbalanced obscenity that is the Object 252U/Defender.

Now that WG have returned to the rule of SerB and tier VIII premiums are worse than their tech tree equivalent game play will be better.

AMX Even 90 is rubbish because the tech tree equivalent the Bat Chat 12t at tier VIII is also woefully weak. Most of the tier VIII light tanks (tech tree and AMX Even 90 and T92) need a light buff. The only one that does not need a buff in the M41 90 GF, which is fine as it is.

The Somua SM is not particularly good because the tech tree AMX 65t must be the worst tier VIII heavy in the game.

If you can sell a bad tank now, there's the possibility of selling a good tank in the future. Next question.

Yes, that's fine. This is a free-to-play game. The players who put real money into the game by purchasing premiums is the ones keeping this game alive literaly.

The question is -why should we even want to buy underpowered tanks???

Somua is a total low tier basher, facing it with a tier VI or VII you're pretty much toasted. When the guns go above 200mm pen it's ... well ... you know.

Don't buy any tier VIII prems from WG - it's the only solution for the time being.

The whole core of the problem is that they use different tanks for premium tanks. A much better solution would be to instead sell upgrade kits that you can use to upgrade your ordinary tier 2-8 tank into a tank with premium benefits. They could even make it work the same way as premium account, so that you upgrade it for a limited amount of time and then have to upgrade it again. Regardless, it would remove the whole issue of premium tanks being overpowered or underpowered. Instead they could just focus on balancing the ordinary tech-tree tanks.

Things that would be solved with this suggestion:

- Continuous income for WG, no need to introduce even more premium tanks each month.

- Each player can try out the ordinary tank before upgrading it.

- Players can farm credits and train crew in their favourite tank.

- Since premium tanks are copies of standard tanks, they can be rebalanced freely "between" upgrades.

- No more special tanks that are locked behind a paywall.

- Marathons could give players a special continuous upgrade that upgrades a tank of their choice once every month/year.

The ELC EVEN 90 is the most fun I've had with my pants on for a while. Yes, it's not stupidly over-powered but then premium tanks shouldn't be if you would like even the faintest hint of balance in the game. Based on this single point, I'm dismissing this entire thread as absolute bobbins because that's how the internet works.

Agreed.

And bad tanks make bad players even worse. It just doesn't help the situation.

It depends why you want a Premium tank?

I'm with Sir Arthur on this one. Premiums should be able to earn credits and train crews, not be the ultimate beast on the battlefield. I making them, once more, inferior to same tier standard tanks is happening, then good. Maybe more newish players will stop buying them because they think they will help them rule in high tiers.

Even if they toned down recent premium a bit (after Defender, Skorpion G and Lorraine) they are still as good if not better than tech tree equivalents. Problems lies elsewhere: 3-5-7 MM which makes 90% tier 8 tanks feel like crap.

Yeah. Because people buy every crap WG throws at them. That's also a major reason why they don't care about anything. Whatever nonsense they do, people will still throw all their pocketmoney at them... which is something I really don't understand.
