I think its best to forget about the tank and just do the missions as you can for their individual rewards. Its NOT worth trying to complete this marathon.

Wait a month or so and the Italian tech tree will come. Save your time and money.

Yep, this kinda sucks because of that. Guess noone actually thought about some specific cases which could help many people to complete this in a softer way.

1) Imagine if you need 10 more exp to get that stage cleared and start the next one. You earn 1k exp and only 10 of that exp goes into the "pot". The 990 left will go to the void. (IMO the exp remaining should always go into the next stage).

2) You are trying to clear a stage by playing tier 10 tanks and trying to achieve the requirements (base exp, get high calibers, block dmg, etc). While doing it you are still collecting exp to the other part of the stage. Imagine if a player is on the 7th stage (be 1st of your team by exp earned 15 times // earn 40k base exp) and completes the 15-times-1st-by-exp and has already 30k base exp collected, this means this 30k base exp will go to waste because the "1st" option was completed before the "2nd". (The exp already earned SHOULD go automatically to the next stage. If moving all exp was not possible at least 50 or 60% should go).

This is just greedy. The whole point of the campaign is that it should take a player by average x amount of time. If WG would transfer "excess xp" to the next stage, it would just simply mean that they would also have to increase the target xp a bit. Same logic applies with having no boosters or x5 xp taken into account when calculating the performances.

The campaign is planned as it is based on overall time consumption for a player to clear it. Ofc WG knew what they were doing.

So how it goes?

While I enjoy nice spring weather you must grind day and night for "free" premium pixels.

Good luck guys! :teethhappy:

Going rather well, thanks for asking. :playing:

Tbh, I'm not sure if I will finish it all the way thru, but as it is only 2 weeks, and the summer is still not quite here, I think it is a reeally interesting campaign and hats of to WG for putting it out there. I really think that this is a win-win kind of campaign, which is a nice motivator for players and certainly creates revenue for WG. I mean a lot of players who get ~50% discount, will buy a tank that they would not have otherwise.

Thx, WG, for reminding us how little fun tier X battles acually are :D

Time to think about if the Regretto M35 is even worth getting this way.

I don't think you can draw any conclusions to tier X battles from the games you play during this campaign. It really feels like you're in a tier 5 battle, LOL.

Ok day one over and I am on stage 3 not pushing it just playing normally and changing tanks often to get as many X5s as I can.

Why are you switching to other tanks for X5? I thought this was just base xp, so surely you should just roll out your most stat padding tenk, rinse and repeat?

I'm not doing the marathon btw, just intrigued by the mechanism of it ☺️ . Good luck to everyone chasing it.

It is only raw experience... so be prepared to suffer the 50.000 grinding. :child:

Because to get the tier 10 options so many times with the teams we have been running yesterday seems a new chapter of Impossible Mission... we should change our nick to Ethan Hunt / Tom Cruise.

credits, free xp, crew skills?

to help grind to the LT-100 ?

to set up for next months op object?

it is what i am doing, since this "event" got terrible (as predicted) once friday evening came along...

doing T-6+ first to pick up some xp for the stages, but its really not that important to me anymore.

if it were an exeptional tank, maybe;, but i've got plenty of mediums already..so yeah

exclusive tank? for now maybe, but there is big chance it'll become like the scorpion-g... "on sale" every month

I would have prefered if the challenge included damage instead of xp. If you lose, you just get rediciously low amounts of xp even if you have a good game. The teams aren't helping either. Just had a team in tier 9 where half of them went beach on overlord.

Some reasonable (i hope) thoughts about the failures of this Marathon:

1.  it gives a very poor image about the company, when you launch, for your 7th year anniversary,

an event with manifest errors in it, without the minimum check of the text. As you guessed I'm referring notably to the "missing garage" issue and, notably, the different amount of reserves obtained by playing or by paying the tank, which lead to a temporary withdrawal of the offer from the site.

Without making a fuss about it, it is, objecively, a poor job from WG team. For such errors,

in other companies people would get fired.

2. More important, there is clearly a poorly designed event, as a marathon at least. Why ? Because in a marathon you can have like 5-10-15% runnes who quit. Let's be generous and say 30%.  But you would still have 70% runners finishing it.

Or, by the poor design, it is very likely that not even 30% of the players base will manage to have the tank only by playing.

I became even more aware of this issue looking at quickybaby's Edited calculations and after seeing Papapawian playing tier 7 instead of tier X to get it.

I mean:

-if 70% of players are not capable of doing it entirely

-if even Papapawian is not taking the " tier 10 skillesd route" it's clear that the event is badly designed.

3. The agressivenes towards the player, in therms of XP resseting. This is probably the lowest blow in this event. Not allowing base XP to stack from one mission to another is just useless aggression towards the players. You could have increased the overall amount required and let it stack, players would not have had felt so agressed / insulted. Totally useless and brainless move here WG.

Happens every time we have these events. The match-maker suddenly has an off week, your teams are worse than badly programmed bots, and frustration is your constant companion. I suppose the one consolation, is that the other tank game's marathon is actually going to be the more painful of the two!

MM is rigged by Wargaming.

Does anyone else have the problem of this event not showing up in the Missions - Events tab?

My missions with tier 10 tanks are not counted either. I don not have any mods installed, and Anniversary mission is working just fine.
I have no clue what is going on, as it seems it is working just fine for the majority of playerbase. :amazed:

Same issue, thought there was some bug and today it will be OK, but not.... Anyone????
