"... to obtain the first Italian Tank, you just need to do your best."

The Italian Challenge will be running from 13.4 at 12 CEST to 27.4 at 12 CEST and the events main prize will be the new Tier VIII Progetto M35 mod 46 premium tank with the new auto-reloading mechanism. The event has been split to 10 stages with 2 ways of completing each stage by either playing tier X vehicles or grinding base xp.

Stage I

Spoiler

[x] Done on the 1st day, playing my comfort tanks to relax after work.

Stage II

Spoiler

[x] Done on the 1st day, bought the Obj 430 & grinded xp for it's modules as long as I still have the free premium day.

Stage III

Spoiler

[x] Done on the 2nd day, playing mostly ongoing grinds.

Stage IV

Spoiler

[x] Done on the 3rd day, mix of ongoing grinds and comfort tanks.

Stage V

Spoiler

[x] Done on the 3rd day, used Maus and hated every second of it. Played like a bot trying to lure people into shooting me after I noticed that 2/3 of my team is dead to Obj 268 4's before I can get anywhere near where the action is, didn't get lucky with city maps either.

Stage VI

Spoiler

[x] Done on the 5th day, mostly played tier VII light tanks and a few games in the T-54ltwt to work my way towards T-100 LT incase Wargaming decides to make tier X LT's worth owning one day.

Stage VII

Spoiler

[x] Done on the 7th day, mix of light tanks with some Obj 430 action.

Stage VIII

Spoiler

[x] Done on the 9th day, platooning up with friends.

Stage IX

Spoiler

[x] Done on the 11th day, researched T-100 LT and Rheinmetall Panzerwagen.

Stage X

Spoiler

[x] Done on the 14th day, propably could have squeezed it in on the 13th if I had the need to hard-grind it. Playing a mix of LT's.

You just need to do your best

As per tradition to any of the Marathons involving a chance to win a "free" tier VIII Premium Wargaming is once again handing the short end of the stick to the new players while rewarding old players with extensive collection of vehicles in their garage so you can pick the correct Tank for the correct mission.

It is possible that some of the more hasty players that joined us lured by the 1.0 shiny graphic update have already made their way up to tier VI and are able to participate but the amount of xp they need to grind is 312 000 base xp in 15 days. The event also ends at noon on Friday the 27th so you can cross that day off if you are working. If you are able to play every day starting from Friday the 13th you will need to grind ~22 300 base xp daily to be able to earn the Progetto.

Git Gud! -Tier X

Playing tier X tanks your games will count towards completion on both set of the mission on each stage as long as the mission criteria is met. Completing either one of them first lets you progress to the next stage.

Players struggling to score top dmg on their team will need to grind  60 000 base xp to skip stages III & VIII

Players struggling to score top xp on their team will need to grind  90 000 base xp to skip stages VII & X

Players that don't own a tier X superheavy nor Obj 268 4 need to grind 42 000 base xp to skip stages II & V

It says every player has a chance, not every player has the same chance.

They gave up communism for a while now, you know ?

Perhaps WG don't want lots of players who've only reached tier 6 running around in free tier 8s for some reason.

I don't see that as a bad thing, since I'd simply like as few new players in Tier VIII Premiums as possible (especially something like the Progetto, where working the auto-reloader system will probably be a challenge to most). They're still likely to earn some reserves, credits and the like from the missions anyway if that have got to Tier VI.

Can't be that, we all know that WG never do anything that could benefit players.

I'm sure lots of people would prefer to have a repeat of the T-44-100 missions to get 150 kills and 150,000 damage in every nation, particularly now that there are more nations in the game. :great:

If they make an event that favours good players everybody complains.

If they make an event favouring dumb grinding over skill, everybody complains.

If they let you choose, everybody still complains...

These kind of events have always been very difficult to do, they won't just hand you a free tier 8 premium for nothing. And if you can't do the full thing, you still have the opportunity to pick up a big discount on the tank.

I was going to throw money at WG the day the vehicle was released, so I am happy to take part in the event.  I don't understand people that complain about the requirements.  If you wanted the tank, were you going to pay for it?  Is a discount on a tank you want not a great gift?  The sense of entitlement that people have worries me a little at times.

Why don't you grind a Tier x then or grind the base XP instead of complaining and riding the backs of those player who have played the game for a long time or put the effort in to get a tier x. Especially when WG is ACTUALLY giving free good stuff now. Credits. XP boosters and most importantly 30 +50% credit boosts!!. Stop complaining about something so irrelevant. Piss off please.

All seem reasonable, and can be done just by playing (well) from VI onwards... apart from the block damage ones; with the gold & HE spam meta at high tiers, that'll be quite hard. Alternative is trying lower down, but then arty becomes the bigger worry.

Regardless, the chance of a freebie brings out all the casuals and on past marathon experience, the already dire general standard of play will plummet even lower. Suspect I'll take a month off rather than suffer it

Nah, I'm playing most of the time, I don't need a freebie to have a dire standard of play. :great:

Will probably get about half way there and then buy the tank with a 50% discount.

If I play more than 6 or 7 battles in a day I'll probably break my computer in rage

And that is what WG wanted.

I don't have one of the inbred superheavies for the blocking missions and I'm just not good enough to get the amount of High Caliber's required at tier 10, so nope, no chance for me and I'm not even going to bother with it.

I'd rather play tier 9s and actually have fun.

Since my time is not free, this is not for free.

But i'm happy, i will get some discount, just not all.

I'm not a good player and i got other things to do. :)

This.

Especially a paper medium with a high skill cap.
