I missed the + and - voting system. That was amazing.

This system is imposing. We must vote good as like.

Hovewer the old system requering 5 possible and 5 negative voting.

Can wg bring it back?.

Yes, the old + and - system was alright. I actually managed to get a positive reputation before this new system after I got about 500 - votes after I had the balls to start a discussion about five years ago where I said arty was too powerful.

The upvote/downvote system just didn't work. Some of the most constructive, well reasoned posts written got lots of downvotes from the bots who didn't want to see the truth and in lack of any proper arguments, they just pressed the "thumbs down" button out of frustration. There are so many forever 46-50% players in this game with large battle counts who get really triggered when you call out their [edited]and since they're the majority they have a big say on "what is appropriate" in a upvote/downvote system. This doesn't mean they are right.

On the other hand lots of pure spam posts with zero constructive value got upvoted as long as they repeated the conventional wisdom that everyone wanted to hear and that didn't "offend" anyone. If you told a new player to "not rush tiers", the legion of baddies who followed this approach themselves(and it never worked for them) would spam your post with upvotes because that's the right thing to do right? Who cares if it doesn't work, that's what they were taught to do so everyone else must suffer the same miserable fate! Then again, if you told a new player that botting low tiers for 5-10k battles doesn't actually teach him a lot and he should get some early high tier experience if he wants to learn the game properly, the same people would spam your post with downvotes(anonymously of course) because this isn't what they did and they don't want their precious high tier games infected with bad players. I mean they aren't bad themselves, they just play for fun and stats are luck.

It's perfectly fine to have 49% win rate after 20-30k games and be [edited] forever, but you should be added to the sex offender list if you rush tiers and "ruin their high tiers". Even if you surpass their recent stats in 2-3k games as result of this.

I can remember some of those threads, but those definitely were the exception and always had some questionable parts, too.

The system worked like expected, like it works on 75297 other forums on the internet. Remember that this isn't the only forum that exists.

It just required proper moderation, which WG refused and still refuses to establish here.

btw: Your post would have earned lots of downvotes. With good reason.

We used to have a dislike but it got spammed when people didn't like an opinion (usually about arty) so it was removed. We can't have nice things if we don't play nice, same as all-chat in game. Don't point at the snowflakes, point at the ones who abused the system.

I never understood it either. It's not like you "farm likes". There is no tally of it unlike the old system.

I'd like the old +1/-1 system to be come back.

I am pretty sure the only reason WG got rid of it was because most of their employees, including the community account, had terribly negative reputations.

Most good posters had very high reputations and the troll posters were obvious as they got heavily voted down for their nonsense.
