Anyone else think spotting assist is broken since 1.0??

Example - Map Cliff - I go spot 1 line for crossing tanks the ONLY other guy who comes is our best player in 705A - I spot 6 enemy - he does 3500 damage before dying. There are no other allies on our flank. I get the credit for spotting the 6 but only get 1500 assist from his 3500 damage thats just plain WRONG. How can u do 7k spot mission if the mechanics are bugged. Today on Prok - I spot E100 - he is 50 metres from me and goes invisible?? 50 metres from a T100LT with full view skills and binos set ??

It's not bugged. If you spot a tank that he shoots but he was able to spot that tank for himself at the time he fired (it drove out of cover or fired and lowered his camo rating or he drove forward, for example), you don't get the assist. It's always worked like that.

Personally I haven't had a issue... However there are many variables of the spotting mechanic

The obvious answer would be: if you get 1500 spotting from his 3500 damage, he spotted 2000 damage for himself. Simple maths you could have learned at school.

Why do you assume it's bugged? If your previous posts are anything to go by, it's far more likely your understanding of game mechanics is bugged. So let's clear this up by looking at the replay you obviously will have saved for us and are just dying to share with us through a wotreplay link. Right?

Can't watch the replay here at work, but the 705A did most of his damage on targets less than 300m away, so there's a pretty good chance he was spotting them himself. Remember, it doesn't matter who spots the target first, only who has line of sight when the damage is done.

I would suggest you actually watch it yourself first. As you needn't have started this thread then...

Edit: Oh and please share the replay of that vanishing E-100 as well.

You may have got the initial spots but the 705 was right on top of his targets most of the time and within his own view range almost all of the time. Conclusion: You didn't rewatch the game yourself and were mistaken in recollection or you simply don't know how spotting works or how it is rewarded.

Oh, and I admire the way in which, once you were spotted, you carefully kept yourself within LoS of the IS-3 so allowing him to hit you, rather than ducking behind the rocky outcrop. Also how you decided to fight on even when the flank was clearly lost and you had no chance.
