Hi ALL.

Just a question to ALL those "PROS" out there.

When is it NOT a good idea to use the slots of things like camo nets and Binocs. For instance, on my AT15A and Tortoise I,ve opted for Ramer/Vents/Toolbox ....

I was wondering with regards the SU-152 and ISU-152 considering their "BOOM STICKS" would it not be better Rammer/Vents/Binocs ????

Respect to ALL,Cheers :)

Which other TDs become silly to waste Camo Nets on ????

two issues really

a narrow gun arc means camo net can be useless if you need to keep moving tank to shoot, waiting 3 seconds for it to reactivate can mean a missed opportunity

but on other hand vents are so pointless IMHO that I cant see the value of dropping a 10% bonus for a 2.5% crew bonus let alone a 25% bonus like for a camo net

overall I guess it depends on your playstyle, if you camp then camo net, if you like to play aggressive and shoot then pull back into cover vents

Camonet is 99% of the times useless. Other equipments are far better.

except that vents give the 2.5% bonus to everything.

25% extra of bad camo is still bad camo.

Isn't cammo net flat cammo bonus depending on vehicle type and not depending on base cammo value? Same like cammo paint which is flat value depending on vehicle type.

15% on TD, 10% on LT and MT and 5% on HT and SPG?

nope,

Camo net adds %25 of your camo value when the vehicle's hull is stationary at least 3 seconds.

For example,

lets say stationary camo value of a vehicle is %22,

after the camo net activated, it increases to the %27,5 until your hull moves again.

with camo net, paint and a full skilled crew, (5 skills each now)

My T67 has %58 camo rating sitting still out in the open.

There is a site to calculate camo and spotting distances..

If I double bush myself in that tank.. A %50 skilled KV2 with no modules, can only spot me when it comes into autodetection range :)

Camonet is a waste on pretty much any tank.

Nope that’s wrong.

camonet gives benefits based on tank class.

15% on a td

10% for lights

etc.

camonet gets deactivated as soon as you start moving or turn your hull only exception are swedisch td in Siege mode turning around doesn’t deaktivate the camo net.

With bino you are a little more "independent" and you are able to spot a little more for yourself if your team derp around or will be derped.

Camo net is never worth it in my opinion.
Use, Vents, Rammer and Binos/optics/gld instead.

From the wiki: http://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Equipment

Block Quote

Provides a % bonus to the tank's camouflage factor when the tank hull is stationary for 3 seconds, based on the class of the tank. Lights and mediums get 10%, Heavies and SPGs 5%, and TDs 15%.

Highly recommended for many Tank Destroyers, particularly turreted ones as turret rotation doesn't break the bonus.

On topic. No I would not use Camo net on SU-152 or ISU-152

Play the tank according to it's strengths and not dogma. A camo net on a Tortoise, no because the strength of a Tortoise is to trundle forwards and not snipe. But a camo net on a thin skinned TD that has an accurate long range gun and it's a strength to take advantage of. In my book any tank that can get it's camo value over 40 (stationary) using any variations at it's disposal, so crew, paint, camo net, BIA, consumables, and it's worth using the camo value actively in playing the tank. If it means mounting a net to do that I would do it, given of course the rest of the tank justifies it, so a good sniping gun, and especially a TD with traversable turret or wide gun arc which doesn't cancel the camo nets effect during gun movement.

in a slow tank, they are worthless because you are always on the move. in a turreted td that changes positions fast (like t-67) too! BUT if you snipe by camping in a certain position all game, then it is worth it! i use it also in arty for some reason (i don't know what to put as 3rd equipment).

It's a waste on any brawling TD, so anything with a big gun unsuitable for sniping *OR* armour to brawl at close range.

Camonet and Binocs are only for sniping TD's.

If you are sniping all game from the same position doesn't that suggest there is an enemy to snipe at, then yes.

What is this hate for the camo net?

It certainly is not for any vehicle, but it is far from useless as many forumites point out.

On E25, STRV 103, RHM Borsig, WTF pz IV , artillery pieces and many others it is a solid choice for me.

Cheers

Because camo net, just like binocs shouldn't exist in the game. They only work when you're stationary for an extended period at a time. They only work for camping and their existence promotes the "im td" mentality or light tanks sitting in a magic bush doing no skill scouting. Having extra tools that reward this kind of behavior just ensures they're less likely to try to learn the game mechanics.

Although there are some tanks that should for now carry them, in the big picture camo net and binocs are just bot equipment hurting the gameplay.

Never ever use a camo net. It's a waste of an equipment slot. For SU-152 I would pick Rammer + 2 out of GLD/Vents/Binos, whatever you like more.

Sniper tanks = camo net, brawlers = no camo net.

If the base value (no skill, paint, etc) is not above 20% when standing still, than i say skip the camo net.

Do not use a camo net on a E25 , most tanks cant see that thing shooting just over 300m without it .That thing is all about run and gun
