The graphics are great and most of us play at our chosen settings with no issues.  Many people however, have reported slow loading times.  I am wondering just what effect this is having on the game when some players are taking two minutes plus to start a game.

From my standpoint, it is impossible to tell these players from afk/bot.  But I am loath to report them simply for having sub-par equipment.  What is your opinion?

If they're still not moving by the end, report. If they move, don't.

Why? I understand that one might want to let some steam out at the end of a disappointing battle by reporting his team's AFKers (which is still likely to be unfair because they might have simply crashed), but at the beginning of a battle, really? Don't you have more urgent errands to run at those minutes?

Given the average battle is 6 minutes I would hardly call 2 minutes the start of the game.  It has nothing to do with venting or "steam"  Perhaps my point was poorly phrased.  Should these people be treated as afk if their issues are caused by the game engine?

There absence clearly has an impact.  Which is again debatable as most people with low end gear contribute less anyway. However. I would argue that if you consistently take an extended time to join the game you should consider your utility.  It's a thought exercise not a whine guys, okay?

Okay. TBH I don't notice that many players being AFK. In fact, I am playing on a potato myself, and don't have significant problems loading up in time.

First 30 seconds of any game is pivotal having afk tanks especially scouts can have a big impact.

If they can't run the game turn the settings down, if they still cant run the game then what are they even doing?

I usually run out of AFK/Bot reports after a few hours, if for some reason my client crashes loading into a game I can be back in within 30 seconds and announce to my team the reason for me being ****.

Although I wonder if WG can identify when people Alt-Tab back into their client, after x amount of cases where someone tabs back into the game after the countdown has finished they should get a warning, a further x amount should be a ban.

I played earlier today with no problems, graphics looked great, but after todays patch all of a sudden i am finding the game unplayable, no matter what settings i and the graphics are terrible.

Wow. Are there actually people going round reporting players they consider to be AFK?

I had no idea that peoples' lives could be so empty.

Sad really. I've had a lot of false starts where it gets stuck on the loading screen and won't load me into the battle at all. I think it is a sad state of affairs that people jump to conclusions so easily.

If someone is having technical issues getting into the game, it shouldn't be a constant thing; they should be reporting, or trying to fix. A few reports for AFKing shouldn't make a difference to their record. If someone hasn't moved from spawn the whole game, and does it purposefully, constantly, well the report should help them get what they deserve.

I usually just type "report that bot in the xxx tank" and they usually move within a few seconds.

That's some impressive code writing.

It doesn't look like code.  Is it like ninja XML or something?

I don't see to many struggling with it now vs on patch day. There is always one that loads in slower then the rest, but most get up 1 second before or after the countdown. I've not seen anyone coming in 2 min after the game has started since patch day.

As if their name is greyed out, they have yet to load in. If not and they are still idle. Then they are afk. But at this point I suspect it's as much mod issues as it is that they lack SSD's. As all the mirco patches of late have made day one mod packs useless. And not everyone plays every day to take note of it yet.

My suggestion would be that Wargaming informs them and recommends lower settings when they load games slowly on average.

I have noticed a lot more tanks stationery at the start of a battle, then moving which does seem to be improving.

As opposed to a classroom of kids vs the teachers, the game is a mostly random collection of players who probably won't see each other again. You mostly get people who at least take part for the fun and try to shoot the reds. If someone tries to screw your game, griefing or botting, why the hell not report them?
