WG made the grind far too tedious.

Playing not bad, I net 3700 base XP / hour at tier 6, so 320k / 3.7k = 86.5 hours ... /14 days = 6 hours 15 minutes of grinding per day !!

This is when I play the battle seriously and try to win.

On the other hand... I can try yolo botting, same as the cheaters did for the Intel Challenge, spotting and doing a bit of damage should be enough to be in the top 10 players, rinse, repeat.

WG - why didn't you make the XP requirement easier and add the requirement to WIN the game ?

Now we are again submerged by yolo bots !!

Don't you learn from the past?

The T25 Pilot Marathon was just right - some missions were difficult, but it was doable with skill and perseverance.

Well as I've said before. 312 000 XP in 14 days is still better then 700 000 with base XP only on tier 6, or 1 050 000 with 2x counted in 28 days like some of the early marathons. So be happy it's not that bad. As the last one was bad unless you had 50+ tanks to do each day.

They did. In past marathon events when you had to win to make it count. There was 50 topics a day about ppl whining how hard it is to win with the weekend warriors. As that's why the T-34-85M was so easy to. Now less complain about it. So WG is more happy about it. So that's what they did learn. Not what the yolo bots did. As it was those who complained in the first place.

WG want people playing their game as much as possible, how strange.

Also, how dare they give us a brand new premium tank to grind for instead of making us pay for it. How dare they give us a discount on the tank, if people don't quite make the full grind.

It is supposed to be a free to play game, give me free stuff now.

Why do you think? WG are a company and they need to make money like any others. You would do the same. Take it as a: how much discount you can get event

Because, like, you will need 12h a day playing to reach the goal.

This marathon is aimed at the following players:

1. Players that are unemployed and have a lot of time on their hands, and can readily complete the XP requirements.***

2. Players that can easily fulfill the tier 10 requirements, requiring far fewer games.****

3. Players that will grind as many levels as they can, unlocking 10% discounts, plus the bonuses at each level they pass, and cetu.

4. Players that will grind as many levels as they can, unlocking 10% discounts, plus the bonuses at each level they pass, and then use the discounts to buy the tank.*

5. Players that will *itch and moan about a mission that can potentially give a free tier 8 premium tank, and either try or not try.

6. Players that will say sod it, I am paying $65 US, and buying the tank outright.**

*= WG hopes many will be this.

**= WG realizes that not many will be this, but will be happy for any that are this.

***= Many players like this.

****= Top 5-10% of players only can be this.  Probably less.

I am most likely going to be the player from #4.

I will be happy to reach stage 5.

I'm currently mid way through 3.

£22 for a tier VIII premium isn't bad at all.

312000 XP in 14 days is horrible. that's a fact, and the requirement to be in the 10 top players just barely avoids the bots which sit AFK in base. with many lights, it's enough to press W to get in the top 10.

The T-34-85M "Marathon" (you mean a motorized wheelchair race for the mentally challenged where everybody wins) was far too easy, it was given away. The SP nr VI wasn't as easy, but quite doable.

I'm surprised they can't find a good middle ground, allowing peole who do have a life but are dedicated WoT players to complete it with about 3 hours of daily play.

I think QB calculated that a yolo bot would take 37 hours a day to complete the mission.  So, I refute you assertion.

Truth is, level 6 is not too hard to get for an average player.  Level 7 as well.  (considering that there are 2 weekends within the special.)

Every Level is worth $6.5 US.

Getting to level 7 means $19.5 for a t8 premium tank that looks half decent.  That is less then a Cromwell B.  Plus the extras from the level 8-10 stuff. (500k silver, 1 day premium, 20 50% 2 hour XP boosts, 20 50% 2 hour credit boosts.  That is a nice haul by any means, especially the 20 credit boosts)

A yolo bot will not get top 10.  The Top 10 factor is huge to prevent yolo bots from getting anything.

No, WG wants you to get to Stage5, look at that amazing 50% off, forget it's a bundle and buy it.

And be happy about it, even though if you only wanted the tank, 50% off the bundle means just 21% off the tank itself.

It's a marathon for a 21% off on a tank coupon, not a free tank marathon (unless you are extremely good have tons of t10's or have no life).

PS: In the meantime the RU server has a more flexible marathon (in the style of the T25 Pilot one), for an unskinned Mauerbrecher, which will probably not soon after, be buffed.

They do not want to give away hundreds of thousands of Progretto's.  They want players to obtain discounts from leveling up, and then buy.

The aim is not to WIN the marathon, but to complete it. You can complete this marathon by walking, as long as you can walk fast enough or far enough within the time.

Think of it more as a "fun run" than an olympic event.
