A map that was the first contact with WOT for many of us until 2 years ago, legendary Province, is returning.

 

Newer players maybe never experience the beauty, and great atmosphere of by opinion of many the greatest map enviroment ever created in this game.


Wargamin is announcing the return of Province map in  patch 1.01.


Let the festivities begin!

Don't expect it to be as good, or fun. It's way wider now, as Pak 40's get 15 spots instantly was one of the reasons for it's removal. They even did keep the K0 castle and the road going up to it. Why? idk. But middle seems like a more viable place now vs before to move across. But it remains to be seen how good the cover is on the camping lines near base vs before. Will make for some longer and interesting games I'm sure. But it's still tier 1 to 3 only. So yolo will be hard early on.

Oh great.... campfest on each side on the top of the slopes. Basically a Mittengard where you don't have to drive down to be able to shoot the enemy spawn. I predict as much or less back then before they removed it.

Unless you played a tank with ~30 km/h speed limit and your only option was to go down to valley just to killed from above and have no way to return to base in time if needed.

Dragon (it takes 3 minutes to climb) Ridge. Great map design. Next level corridors with no way out and possibility to get shot at by tanks sitting above.

PRovince was fun.

 

Not sure how it looks now, or that it'll be enjoyable as a higher tier map.

Meh.

 

The only people that enjoyed this map were Pak 40 players and sealclubbers.

 

Nothing but a campfest as far as I remember.

The only thing wrong with the original Province map was the size.

It's a classical map, among the first older members ever played. And it's only for tier 1-3 so no crying is needed.

Game portal announcement for Common Test server says

 

Province has grown from the compact size of 600x600 meters to 850x850 meters, and thanks to this change, the map now welcomes vehicles all the way up to Tier X. The revised design promotes faster engagements. Occupying your slope will no longer mean victory: you’ll need to attack the other one, too. If you don’t press forward, the enemy will—and the things will surely get dire. Running a successful attack will be quite a challenge, but if you manage to reach key positions you’ll be able to break through your opponents’ defense in power.

Excellent, more bot-friendly campfests. Mines, Arctic Region and a bunch of other [edited] maps wasn't enough, we need more "td friendly" gameplay for bots who want to sit in base all game.

Yay, one of the worst maps ever created in this game returns. I don't understand how people could enjoy this map when the gameplay literally consisted of "Did you manage to equip a pair of binoculars on your tank?".
