Everyone knows those goes... don't we?

You come into a nice game and EVERY TIME a tank is light up

"IM SPOTTED AT E4!! NEED HELP NOW!" "IM SPOTTED AT E4!! NEED HELP NOW!" "IM SPOTTED AT E4!! NEED HELP NOW!"

Even more fun if there are 2-3 of those:

"IM SPOTTED AT E4!! NEED HELP NOW!""IM SPOTTED AT E4!! NEED HELP NOW!""IM SPOTTED AT E4!! NEED HELP NOW!""IM SPOTTED AT E4!! NEED HELP NOW!""IM SPOTTED AT E4!! NEED HELP NOW!""IM SPOTTED AT E4!! NEED HELP NOW!""IM SPOTTED AT E4!! NEED HELP NOW!""IM SPOTTED AT E4!! NEED HELP NOW!""IM SPOTTED AT E4!! NEED HELP NOW!""IM SPOTTED AT E4!! NEED HELP NOW!"

Sounds fun hm?

Clearly its a great mod for users of heavy tanks and scouts dancing ridge lines. Those are so rarely spotted. /sarcasm

Now - i never ever HELPED ANYONE .... using this command. Refuse to.

Not like this pointless spam has any meaning to it. Its one thing to do a 3v1 and you NEED the help....... another one to crapurself in a corner and spam this every 10 seconds... i guess we can agree.

So ... why does Wargaming THIS MOD ... in their modding store?

Its spam. Its no use. Its distracting and drowning important messages out.

Funny thing is: blocking those players might.... (not saying they got half a brain) but... might puts you in a disadvantage if they for once use that 'head thingy' sitting on their shoulders and try to provide actual, valuable data....

Long story short: use it, you die lonely, as well a lot more.

Yes. The "Help! I'm spotted at XN mod does not appear at first sight to be useful. Has it any worthwhile function?

One of these mods adds the "Is anyone caring".  That's real fun.

My personal favourite is "You are on my firing line get off". I saw a T29 using this the other day and he still TK'd the guy in front of him.

I am sure these have some utility in clan wars etc.  Perhaps the mods could make a toggle for randoms.

I will admit I ignore them entirely.

I'm almost at the point of turning off chat completely.

The "Is anyone caring" thing triggers me more than it should, but otherwise i ignore this nonsense. It is surprisingly easy to do.

Most of the time those mods are part of a whole modpack that people just install without taking a second look or having a clue.
Annoying indeed, especially the non-English ones. Should all get banned.

I would be very happy if WG gave us the option to disable this in the game cliënt, or that the mod devs make it so that only those who have this mod can see it.

I think that's part of the SafeShot mod. which prevents team damage. If you fire a second time it decides you mean it and doesn't stop you. Ain't no cure for stupid.

That, on the other hand, is a useful mod for arty and autoloader players. If I require support then I'd like to know whether I might get it or when it might be arriving.

The spotted message is sometimes useful to get a warning of enemy presence (either being closer or in an unexpected location), problem is that the mod indiscriminately sends out the message whenever the tank is spotted as soon as the cool-down time (which is adjustable through the XML-file) has expired. A much better solution would to finally get the quick commands improved, and have the spotted msg added there.

The problem is, that no one cares about in a useful situation after 20 battles with much of just the same message being just spam. And mostly it is using two chatlines, where the second is always useless:

"I am spotted at xy"

"Help!"

Do you mean the automatic reloading some people seem to have enabled?  Yes that is annoying and pointless.

But the in built reloading message can be very useful if an ally might be relying on you but you need to refill your autoloader.  It's also useful for arty to co-ordinate with spotters to light up targets.

As for spotted messages, I block them for the battle and report for spam.

Had a great example of this earlier. Player's mods spammed chat to tell us he was reloading, that he'd been spotted in Russian, help in English followed by, "I've been spotted at C8". Maybe unsurprisingly he was playing an Object 268 v.4 quite badly.

I have "I've been spotted" as a bind on my keyboard.  I'll use it if it is relevant e.g. my being spotted tells us late in the game that an enemy can see me.  Reloading - always send this while in an autoloader but it isn't an automatic thing.
