I used to play with this tank mostly in tier 6 skirmishes. It wasn't great, but for someone who lacks cat-like reflexes to do well with Cromwell it was pretty good.

Fast enough to not fall too behind on smaller maps, good DPM thanks to larger alfa and decent penetration to deal with occasional heavies. Yes, the gun handling wasn't great and shell velocity neither, but I had good games with it.

Now, after 2 yeas hiatus, we started with skirmishes again and it is much worse experience than I can remember. The bloom on the move is horrible and it takes ages to aim. Accuracy seems to be worse and the shell velocity does feel much lower than it used to be.

In the end it became too much of a choir to try and keep uo with others and I had to switch

Sounds about normal. It has always been like that.

T-34-85M / Rudy is just tons and tons better...

Skoda T40 really cant fight those things and expect to win..

And what is worse is that everybody will turn their turret towards you the moment you get spotted. Because everybody knows you have no armor anywhere.

The (standard tank) VK3001P feels A LOT better than Skoda T40.

And by even bigger mistake gave its turret to tier 8 tank, but that's neither her nor there in this case :)

Funny enough I have Skoda T40 and TVP. Worst tanks. I wouldn't complain if their gun handling were decent or if gun depression were a thing but come on, TVP is a no armour meh mobility medium tank with a meh gun and -6 degrees gun depression. Just....why, why is a premium tank fit for t5 set as t6 and a regular tank worse than a panther set as t8? Why....

Is it because it's two years later and you've gotten used to better handling of other tanks, maybe higher tier than you played before? I agree with the others, your description of it sounds very much like the T 40 I remember playing.

So I thought to myself. Let's take the skoda t40 for a spin and see how bad it is.

Got one-shotted by kv-2. From the front. In the first 2 minutes of the game.

Man...

ps. Of course I missed the kv-2.

At first I thought this can't be true, because I compare my results directly to people I know and the same tanks we played before, so it can't be caused by faulty memory, but than I've found some older stats (one of early 0.9 versions) and it looks like T40 has in fact been boosted a bit when it comes to gun handling, so I guess I really changed my style a bit
