I just completed a battle, and the following advert popped up:

Spoiler

I was like: "ok, that's kind of them, giving me a 30% coupon, I might as well buy something with it". Mind you, considering recent announcements by WG devs, claiming that they are planning on rewarding old players, I was kind of "meh" with just 30%, but anyway.

After searching in the prem. shop for a couple of minutes, I realised the coupon can be used on pretty much nothing except for prem. time and gold, literally the only 2 things I 've got a constant supply of, through clan activities.

My question is: why is WG limiting the amount of things purchasable with coupons? I suppose those guys in Nicosia would prefer seeing me buy something, than buy nothing....What kind of a stupid marketing plan is this?

See if you can use the coupon on War thunder or Armoured warfare.

When they first arrived, you could even use it to stack tanks and bundles already on discount. As I got 122-44 for 70% off, as it was already on discount. So I suspect WG thought it was a bad idea. And the only thing you can use it on is indeed gold, premium time and tanks not on a special or discount. Anything on a limited offer or in a bundle is off limits. Basically half the store.

It's the same marketing plan that is used in RL to lure the consumers into the stores. Except that you don't have that "I drove here all the way from home, so I should buy something"-feeling on the internet and will just leave the online store with a rather dismissive "meh" and be done with it.

If you want to spent something in Nicosia better prefer spending it in Neverland rock bar or Fanous restaurant. I can give you a tour if you wish :P

I got a 2nd class medal in 430 and a 20% off coupon due to "very good performance".

Sure sure.

Too bad they seem to think this was a bad idea. I also got the SU-122-44 with double discount, 2x 30% off made it 13 euro. These are OK prices in my opinion for premium tanks. This also happened to be the last time I purchased something.

I thought about spending some money on WoT last months, but there simply is nothing I want enough to justify the price... 40 euro for a tank is quite alot in my opinion (and no, I'm not poor). Looking at the Patriot and Lorraine offers, but tier 8 MM is an important negative argument not to spend money on either one.

... except that the failure comes once people want to spend money on WG's store and find nothing of interest. Surely they can think of something? Even if it is yet another tier 8 Russian premium heavy and where is the Kirovets anyway... or those premium light tanks?

Not always.  Failure of it in my case comes because I bought it already.
