Hi guys, i'm going to buy one of these two tanks but... i can't decide which one!

Firstly, i haven't either of these two lines. But i don't think there are better choices in that range of gold and i don't want to spend more to buy a t8.

Both of these tanks seems OP or at least very good, above of the average tier 6 tank. I'm looking for a solid, strong tank, that can do some silver profit (i know it would be better tier 8 premiums but they are expensive).

I would like to have type 64 because i struggle with light tanks missions and I'm used to play paper armor tanks (as my t20), but I'm afraid beacuse light tanks are difficult to play and the low pen of AP shells scares me a little.

On the other hand, t 35 85 m seems to be a more reliable tank and simplier to play, at least it's more forgiving with his armor. And mediums are my most used tanks in the game by far.

So:

1) Type 64

2) T 34 85m

3) Wait for some kind of discount to take them both (i don't know if it will ever happen)

Are you going up either the Soviet or Chinese lines anyway?

T3485M easily. you can train crew for several Russian meds. plus, it is way more forgiving tank then 64.

simply. you will do much better in t3485m

They're both strong tanks since they were buffed; the T-34-85M is possibly OP for its tier, has great armour and a decent gun. The Type 64 is an excellent fast light and can use vertical stabilisers (all lights from tier 5+ can now). Credit earning potential will be around the same level - what the Type loses in rewards for alpha, it should make back in assist damage.

The T-34-85M is easier to play, the armour means you'll bounce some shots while the Type will be prioritised once you're spotted simply because it can be very dangerous and nearly every shot received will pen as it doesn't have any armour.

I've had both - the Type is my most-played tank, I traded my T-34-85M because I found it dull to play and had plenty of other Russian medium premiums for training crews. What it'll probably come down to is your preference - the Russian for heavy-medium slower paced gameplay or the Type for faster and sneaky hit and run attacks.

There are regular-ish discounts on tanks you can buy from the tech tree for gold, it's usually 30% off for tier 6. I've no idea when the next one will be.

Easy answer.

Both.

If you get in to CW at tier 6, then both are a necessity.  In SH T6 as well.  If it is credit making then both are a waste of time.

T-34-85M is way more forgiving and easier to play with, as the armor work great when you are top tier. Type 64 is cheaper to run, even on ammo. And might fetch a bigger profit. Even more so in +2 games via assist. But.. it's way less forgiving vs the T-34-85M.

It depends on your style I guess. Bully and passive/active spotting. Or support med most games, or brawler when top tier.

Type 64 if you are a light tank player.

T34-85M if you are not.

This. For me, Type wins most of the time

This happens reasonably often. 2-3 times per year.

I have 4 Russian med crew trainers (T-29, T-28E with F-30, Rudy and T-34-85M).  Many of the mini marathons and xmas giveaways are Russian tanks.

On the bright side, neither is a bad choice.  My choice would be the 64.  It's my favourite Tier 6 Prem.

I enjoy the type 64 a lot more. The low pen used to be more of an issue when it still had light tank MM, but since the changes I rarely fire premium in it. But then again, I'm a sucker for fast tanks with no armour. The t-34 85m is good, but it just feels really really boring to me. It's probably a lot more reliable to do well in in the corridor meta though.

I play the type 64 when I want to have an epic game.

I own both.

Type 64 benefits from having a high perk crew.

T34-85M does not need a high perk crew to do well.

As the OP has a battle count of 3k games his crews are likely not to have many perks and so I would advise him to buy the T34-85M.

Thx for the help guys!

I appreciate your comments so much but maybe I'm more confused than before lol

I'm thinking Type 64 will be a better choice, only because i really want to have a solid light tank to play and it seems to be a little powerhouse. But I'm also aware the it can be a harder way. At least i can improve my skills! For the crews, i could put in one female commander, I'm keeping them!

Good choice.  I bought the Type 64 for my son.  He now has better stats than me.

But that was after teaching him spotting mechanics.  Ranges.  Interface  etc.   Etc.

You can carry much more by average scouting, than average killing...so more gold...

If only there was a test server where you could buy both tanks, equip them at will and use loads of XP to train the crews...

Oh, wait.

I thought test server is open only to contributors or beta testers, something like that :\

Is the amount of gold/silver/exp unlimited? I don't know how it works.

yes, not far from infinite, but meaning players spam gold even more.

You just can't play premium tanks not sold in game.

About the "poll" : I would say type 64, t34 85m with tiers 8 is very unfun.

Test server is open to anyone who wants to put the time in

As for the prem tanks
Type would be my choice simply because it is a light that I actually enjoy playing and not flat out suck in.
Me a player that absolutely stinks playing lights can use it and have a bit of fun with it.
