Hope you're all doing well.

After gathering my life together, I decided to give this game another shot. You don't need to update me on the changes, I've seen it all from several youtubers.

What I'm interested in, is fully optimizing the client to have peak FPS. Let's check the specs:

Intel Pentium N3710 @ 1.6GHz 4-core, no clocking available;

4GB of RAM;

GeForce 920M 2GB graphics;

Windows 7 x64 OS.

On the lowest settings, SD client, I'm getting an average of 30fps while playing WoT, and I can clearly see that those numbers aren't sufficient. I don't really know my way around the Nvidia control panel, but there must be something along those settings that can bump the numbers up.

See you around!

I have a similar rig with a wee bit stronger CPU running  @ 40~60 FPS.

It only "peaks" in the CT server while playing Frontline

Not a gaming laptop,actually budget one.You get the latest drivers,minimize graphics and start increasing until you have sufficient frames/quality.Thats not rocket science.Low clock cpu,i doubt you can hit 60 fps with decent graphics.

as for the processor..that's your main issue i strongly believe. it's very old.

I suppose it could be worse, it could be Intel Celeron... :trollface:

Pentium N is actually based on the Atom archichtecture, so it is worse than classic Celerons: https://www.cpubench...3920/2730vs2807

It's not that old actually. But it's designed for low energy consumption, not performance. Basically it's supposed to handle browsing and office stuff, nothing more. And his GPU also isn't designed for heavy gaming.

The main issue I have with the CPU is that it says online that clocking is doable, up to 2.56GHz, but my BIOS doesn't have that option.

I'll go through the tips that STLR has left the link for, will let you know what the results are.

What's wrong with 30 fps?

I've been playing with 30-40 fps for years.  Never did me any harm.  I'm much more concerned with ping than frame rates.

I wouldn't mind 30fps in a single player game, but in a game like this, I need those extra frames. I got accommodated to high frame rates in games like CS 1.6, first DotA, Freelancer online... I don't need reflexes of that intensity for tanks, but 30-40 fps seems sluggish to me.

Anyway, I applied the changes which STLR left here, and I gained a slight increase of 3-4 fps on average. I get 65-70 fps during the countdown, and I drop down to 25-35 while in heavy combat.

... which is actually quite good, given the limited hardware you have.
