Yes another "explain this exp calc" but not about me. Just trying to focus on what we do and don't know

430 does nothing, no spotting, no damage, no assisted but TWO none damaging hits and dies

257 does 2 shots of damage , 1 kill and survives

So both same tier, clearly damage, kills, surviving counts towards exp earnt but then how did the 430 gain more???

Tanking - 430 took 3 hits to the 257 1 hit?

Non damaging hits where the 430 might of taken out a crew member or damaged a critical component and no team mates damaged him therefore no assisted?

Nice post. But I don't know how much we can get out of a single battle...

Oh, and you forgot to delete name in the first photo... :P

LONG TITLE

...longest I've ever seen. :amazed:

Don't take that out of context.

The 430 travelled over 1km, while the 257 hadn't, perhaps there's a bonus per kilometer? Is WG really that cheeky?

Well it does seem a bit odd in this case. But... if his 4 hits was critical. He would get bonus XP pr damage module even with no damage. And if 500 xp is the "participation" reward along with the team effort XP. Could be. As we don't know how big or small the different bonuses are for any such events to make a solid comparison vs the one that got on spot 15 and his damage and kill. Even if his kill & damage was on an equal tier for no bonus.

In random battlrs there are same EXP rules as in ranking battles - you got more EXP if you are in centre of battle. 257 have all damage above 300m, probably shared with spotter.

And about weird exp - yesterday I got ace in M48 for 4,8k damage and less than 1k assist, that was strange.

Now that indeed is an odd one. Even when taking into consideration the usual suspects when it comes to modifiers, these just don't add up. I suppose the Obj. 257 dealt the damage while not spotting the target, and thus only received 50%, and the 4 shots by the Obj. 430 were all critical damage (gun, tracks, observation device), but even then the lower XP makes no sense.

Would you happen to have the replay to share?

Well I didn't expect watching the replay would provide any (definitive) answers, but from watching it the only thing that really stands out is that Obj. 257 back line 'sniping' while the Obj 430 was up close and personal. The other Obj. 257 dealt less damage and scored no kills, yet ended up with more XP, while also engaging closer to the front line. It would seem simply being close to the action, even when failing to inflict damage, provides additional XP along with the damage XP modifier below 200 meters; taking shots, and getting shot at is a rewarding experience in and by itself.

Edit: Loved that 'bounce' on the WZ btw. If you cannot penetrate a heavily armored vehicle, shoot HE. Wargaming Pro-Tip on map loads... :P
