There should be a massive penalty for arty players that drown their tanks deliberately. I once confronted a player about it and his response: "There aren't any rules against drowning on purpose so I will continue to do so until it's illegal."

After looking into game rules, he's right, there aren't any rules against deliberately drowning which is unbelievable. It's entirely possible that I missed the rule somewhere, but come on... Attached screenshot says it all.

I once asked about this on one of their livestreams during xmas about this,  i suggested that they give the remaining hp as dmg done  to the nearest enemy. they laughed it off saying that its rare and that you should report them.

"It is rare and you should Report them"

You mean with the report button that does NOTHING

Not sure why they don't implement a no exp gain and triple the repair costs for drowning yourself.

that's wrong on so many levels.

He can still be sanctioned by rule

I play a lot of arty, and I've never drowned on purpose once.

I'd rather duke it out till the end, and fill the face of the first one to find me, with a great big shell shaped grin.

Saying that, yes, I've seen arty drown themselves at the end, not often, but I've seen it.

However, I've seen way, way more drown themselves at the start of battle than at the end.

And it's never arty.

I agree, and would also apply the same rule and penalty to drivers of all classes. I'm sure you would, too. Wouldn't you.

You are right... But like any of those top of the page threads, there is a real sense that anything you type there is essentially being tipped into a big vat of nothingness. The mere fact the thread is so vast means that any constructive dialogue is quickly lost. Which is probably why the mods are so keen on it.

It is not drowning in the drowning meaning but more as a suicide. Some people during the time of war are scared of what enemy would do to them so they commit suicide.

If look in this perspective all those drowning wussies are basically type of the people that you feel sad about.

I kinda get why an arty do this but I think it is wrong if they give up when they still have some teammates, what you should do is try to help your last teammates for as long as you can. Doing it if they are all by themself I can understand that,  you're basically a free kill.

Mainly because there will be no indication how the drowning occured.

Was it deliberate?

Was it bad judgement?

Was the arty pushed?

They arent going to trawl through hundreds and hundreds of replays ..........to issue a 'fine'.

Sounds good but what if you drown yourself by accident?

It could be treated in the same way as pushing the leave battle button. I see this behavior every day and it is almost exclusively an arty "feature".

Ive done that plenty of times...rarely when you are last against few enemy lightss/meds....so really point wasting everyones time for next 3-4minutes hiding and dieing anyways.   And drowned my self not only in arty, when you are rolled in very dumb siemka team and just cant force self to be a part of that fest. So drowning = no penalty and you are good to go with another tank, while leaving battle gives you penalty.     And one mentioned tripple repairs and what not - im sure you drowned your self atleast once by mistake....and next time it happens you wouldnt like to pay extra for just your mistake?!
