Did WG change time for summer and winter time? Several months ago server reset for Europe was in 6am, now is on 7am.

The server rest is done at the same time UTC all year.  It's your clock which has changed.

People still don't understand what daylight savings time is?...

See, it's completely pointless, just confuses people...why doesn't the world just cancel daylight savings? It's been discussed in the news, about it being bad for your health, and utterly pointless at this time and age.

It was made in the late 1800 to make ppl save oil for their lamps. Not something we need now. Or something the US used during WWI and II to get longer daylight hours for war productions. And most EU nations inc mine took it up in the 80's long after oil lamps went away.. or the war ended. Now my government is pushing to get it removed. Finland was very eager to tell everyone to get rid of it here a few months ago, and our nation was one that did follow up on their points to promote the removal here. So it remains to see how that goes.

Daylight saving is very important, think what would happen if daylight were to go extinct!

Apparently we have DST (or rather BRITISH SUMMER TIME) because kids in Scotland don't like going to school in the dark.

Me, I think it's just a handy way to remind us that the current season is called Summer, even if it is snowing and sub-zero,

We experimented with not having it in the early 1970's... I walked a mile to school in the dark, I walked a mile home from school in the dark too, (school was 9am - 4pm then) it wasn't nice.
However the majority of kids who live more than 100 yards from school get driven there these days

Over there in the Putin Union where WG has it's headquarters, they actually abolished daylight savings time 5-10 years ago.

Nobody uses that or GMT.

The official measure of time is UTC.

The official measure of time is UTC.

We Brits do use British Summer Time, UTC is the time standard commonly used across the world. The world's timing centers have agreed to keep their time scales closely synchronized - or coordinated - therefore the name Coordinated Universal Time, (they can't even keep the letters in the same order).

Although GMT and UTC share the same current time in practice, there is a basic difference between the two:

  • GMT is a time zone officially used in some European and African countries. The time can be displayed using both the 24-hour format (0 - 24) or the 12-hour format (1 - 12 am/pm).
  • UTC is not a time zone, but a time standard that is the basis for civil time and time zones worldwide. This means that no country or territory officially uses UTC as a local time.

UTC, GMT and Daylight Saving Time

Neither UTC nor GMT ever change for Daylight Saving Time (DST). However, some of the countries that use GMT switch to different time zones during their DST period.

For example, the United Kingdom is not on GMT all year, it uses British Summer Time (BST), which is one hour ahead of GMT, during the summer months.
