Any numbers how many bought it and how many actually got it through the maraton? :P

I'm sure this thread will go well. :great:

For what it's worth, I'm very pleased with the format and design of this marathon, the two ways to complete it were a nice twist but it would have been preferable to have a lower high tier requirement (but only because I don't have many higher tier tanks). It's prompted into grinding some new lines I wouldn't have considered for a while and to play the tier X's that I've got but never use, so that's been welcome. I'm happy that it's a marathon and as such required some dedication to complete if you went the grind route.

Downsides would be some of the gameplay in tier X battles was atrocious, particularly for missions such as causing the most damage or finishing top on xp. Nature of the beast, I guess. Using base xp only made the later stages feel particularly punitive but I understand it provides a level playing field for premium and standard account players, plus it could easily be the catalyst for more players to reach stage 7 or 8 and deciding to purchase the rest, which makes sense from a business perspective.

Overall, many thanks for listening to previous feedback about the xxx kills, xxx damage marathons and special mention for offering a tank for a new nation with a new mechanic. Good job, WG. :great:

Thank you wargaming for giving us this marathon. The new format is very good, but i think tier 10 missions was too hard for the most players. Many unicums live streamers prefer to do the base xp grinding missions. good job WG keep up!

It was nice to have a marathon for tier 8.

Only one complaint, NEVER encourage players to play tier 10 tanks, tier 8 is barely playable without this and the marathon made it so much worst, I can not put it into words without getting banned.

The option to do it with skill(or luck) is nice but some goals took longer than a 7k base XP grind for example.

The only concern I have is the 2nd European server went down yesterday and I couldn't get on the remaining server to finish up level VI. I'm surprised this wasn't addressed today. Its not much but the extra 250,000 credits and 10x 50% credits per battle personal reserves is what I was going for; however, I only had 24,268/35,000 from the day before. As I stream daily, I ended up signing into the NA server so I could still have my stream.

Respectfully,

Wallerdog

you mean that 5 times 4k blocked mission that basicly forces you to play the 268v4 to complete reliable?

I believe the EU1 was open, why didn't you go there?

What do you [edited]mean "comes to a close"?! You had server issues all day yesterday. Where is the extension on the event? I was 1.3k XP away from the next tier up, which I planned to reach after work, until you ruined it for me with YOUR TECHNICAL ISSUES.

Overall I think this was a well thought out format. The three options were good (grind/tier X/buy, or any combination), and the fact that you offered so many additional rewards at what was already a good discounted price was also much appreciated. I took the grinding route, and finished on Wednesday, but still I'd say that 312 base XP is quite a stretch and could be brought down a little bit in future.

It's interesting to see today how many Progetto's have appeared in battles, especially vs yesterday. I can only take this to mean that all those who were grinding have now started purchasing with the benefit of the discounts they have racked up. I hope this will normailse again soon, but I think the Progetto is potentially a very dangerous premium tank in the right hands, so I think they will be as regular a feature on the battlefield as the Skorpion G.

Thanks again for the free tank and goodies

Disagree. I have 4 tier 10 tanks and I almost never played them before the marathon encouraged me to do so. While I agree that some of the gameplay was disappointing, the intention to get more players in higher tiers appeared to work and for a while tier 8 match-making was great as a consequence.

A lot of players were blocked from joining EU1 due to an active session on EU2 that couldn't be cleared, even after going through Account Management to end the session remotely. Basically they tried and they couldn't.

Exactly what happened to me. Not that i would care for progretto, but the rewards advancing tier were nice, and i couldnt finish my tier, which was 1k xp short... :(

Pretty sweet event given all the stage rewards along the way and options available to eventually acquire the tank, although the 'base xp' grind was often a total slog and with everyone trying to do the same thing it left games pretty unplayable at certain times of the day. In future marathons, raising the stage requirements for xp gained but allowing all battle xp combined (as has been done with many xp-oriented weekend missions before) would make for a less stressful time and allow more players with little time to actually make some progress (including reserves. premium time, etc.).

Tier requirement wasn't an issue, in fact using Tier VI and VII most of the way made things go much more smoothly in later stages.

The "top ten" requirement was also an absolute swine to contend with in those seemingly-endless streaks of *edited* battles. Maybe drop that one too.

Agreed. I unlocked the Maus some time ago, but had in fact never played it. The 4K damage blocked mission gave me an incentive to do so.

Mind you, in between being shelled by arties, showered with gold shells (hello 268v4) or being left behind in fast, lopsided matches (either wins or losses), accumulating 4K damage proved such a challenge that I ended up getting the required base XP instead. It would be interesting to see some numbers on how many players managed the short route, and how many just ground the base XP.
