I have had around 50 matches in Tiger 1 and I can't remember getting set on fire. The engine does have 20% chance to catch on fire if hit but I started to think that if it may be better to just carry food or oil and not fire extinguisher?

The tiger 1 reload times are allready pretty agressive, i dont think wasting 20k credits per game on food would give you an extreme boost...

but, its your money

about the extinguisher, the tiger 1 gameplay it selfs normaly means you only expose your turret, so... you wont have many problems with fire or amoracks...

playing from 200/300+ range is perfectly ok and its what the tank was meant for.

The reload time is so short I don’t think you will gain much benefit from food and the accuracy is also tops.

it helps for viewrange and mobility, but is unneeded - I 3-marked the Tiger I using just small kits and AP ammo.

the sad thing about the Tiger I though is that it's rarely a battle winner - you can rack up damage but its intervention is rarely decisive except on open maps where the accuracy and DPM are real killers.

I play Tiger1 very aggressively and have to say that DPM is already spectacular without BiA, so I don't think food would be useful. With vents, optics and 70% Recon I'm alredy almost at VR cap, so with BiA and situational awarness you should already be able to outspot same tier LT, so even there food looks like a wast to me. At most you may load 2 repair kits, because engine track and ammorack can all be hit from the front, but I will keep the fire ext. to be safe.

correct.

my Tiger I has 462 view range (optics, vents, BiA, Sit.Aw., Recon)

if I replace the fire extinguisher with chocolate, the view range jumps to 483 and DPM to 2717 !  5.3 sek reload.

Economy wise do you NEED to make up for the cost or can you afford it? If you need to make a silver profit on games you are going to need to be hitting a lot of things to make it. Of course if you a full on wallet warrior then crack on.

Well, I don't really look beyond tier 8 much.My sweet spot is tier 5-8 so I guess I don't really need to make a profit that much. I do have couple of tier 7 premium tanks that are quite effective at generating silver if I were in need. And currently I don't have much else that I want other than tier 8 italian pantera.

It used to catch fire a lot more when the transmission behind the lfp counted as engine.

I run food and it's one of my favourite tanks. Can't remember the last time I caught fire but you're more likely to get ammo-racked than set on fire in the Tiger 1. It did used to go up all the bloody time though when the frontal transmission counted as an engine as Baldrickk pointed out already. Burned a few to death that way myself.

At first I played Tiger P and I really could not get myself to love it so I decided to give a Tiger 1 a go and now I am in love with it. Tiger 1 just feels great. And about damaged racks... ye,  that happens a lot :)

Yep, because everyone knows where ammorack is on Tiger1. It's one of the few tanks I specifically aim for ammorack, thanks to the paper frontal armour.

You don't even have to specifically aim for the ammorack on most German tanks, auto-aim will do it for you as they're mostly situated around the centre side of the vehicle. Ammo-racked a panther recently from full hp in my AMX 13 57 just by parking on his side and unloading half a mag into him whilst auto-aimed.

yeah... while for many russian tanks auto-aim will guide your shells on the strongest part of the side armor... talk about balance.

no, food is unsustainable with a non-premium account.

during my 3-mark grind I managed to make a small profit in average, something like 3 - 5k per battle.

I saw a picture of a Tiger with it's hull cut out and basically ammo is all over the inside of the tank...

Dont look too much on numbers. This is a russian "game" = any numerically measured feature may be false.

To be fair, that's just because german tanks tend to be boxy, with central turret and ammorack under it. Autoaim aim at the center of the tank, just this.

I always hate seeing a Tiger I on the enemy roster.  It's usually easy to pen but it dishes out a lot of damage.

To be fair, most tanks are like that
