It may be worth pointing out that you need the top turret to get a 3 shell clip with either gun if I recall correctly from the test server.

The tier 6 medium is completely crippled by soft stats, it's ground resistances on medium and soft terrain are awful meaning the tank is super sluggish, it struggles to more than about 35-40kph in most places, which is terrible for a paper medium tank.

Why cripple a tank with hidden stats and make it a pig to play?

Also why does it APCR round have such terrible shell velocity?

I was more than a little surprised at how few vehicles were part of the Italian tree.   Not even a single Semovente TD/AG??

And P26/40 was the Italian version of a heavy tank at the time.   Yes it's a very light heavy, but 50mm decently sloped armour is still pretty good up front.

Missing?

M11/39.

M13/40 single most produced at 3k+.

M16/43.

Semovente da 47/32.

Semovente da 75/18.

Semovente da 75/34.

Semovente da 75/46.

Semovente da 90/53.

Semovente da 105/25.

Semovente da 20/70 quad.

Semovente da 149/40.
Semovente B1 Bis ( French Char B1 with turret dropped ).

Imported or possibly a domestic version of the German Panther was also looked at.

FIAT 2000?   Tier 3 heavy?

Maybe I should start grinding, but I need the free XP to skip to tier 4. Because nobody in their bright minds will play those low tier tanks. Good luck against Pz. 1 C's.

so far so good, tier 4 has a little too good HE pen if you ask me though...

the intermediary gun with 60mm HE pen seems much more balanced.

Not complaining though, it brings an interesting level of gameplay to the table! defo a keeper

So far played tier 5 and 6 fully upgraded and they are very mediocre... I don't really understand why soft stats on guns are so bad. Maybe tier 5 "armor" and decent mobility makes bad gun handling balancing factor but absolutely can't see the reason why tier 6 is so crippled with both gun handling and mobility. Little buff to dispersion on the move and bigger buff to dispersion on turret rotation to tier 6 would made this tank much less annoying to play.

I agree that the tier 5&6 can only be meant as a bad joke...

Is it the historical accuracy, were italian tanks really that bad?

Or why did u give a "medium" tank virtually no armour (tier 5 meds, heavies and TDs penned my angled front hull and turret 11/12 times w standard rounds in the Tier 6 P43 bis), bad mobilitiy AND a mediocre gun? Do the russians have any serious beef to settle with our southern european buddies?

New patch, whole new tech tree, new country and people like Jingles are playing and reviewing War Thunder.

This Italian tech tree is a joke, is at tier5 and the tank i usless if you dont meet lower tier.  P.43 is sluggish and have a bad gun. totally usless.

Played until Tier VI so far. These tanks are just dismal (the 26/40 being somewhat of an exception). Armour is unreliable, mobility is meh and the gun handling is as bad as Russian gun handling should be (but somehow never really is). Perhaps the new loading mechanic will make a big difference in Tiers VIII to X, but so far this tree is entirely forgettable. If things don't lighten up as Tiers get higher, I guess I will grind the line to X for the sake of completion and then that's that.

Well, at least now I understand why the Italians sucked so hard in WWII. Thanks for clearing this up for me, Wargaming. Perhaps one day you guys will also explain to me why Russian tanks were totally owned in the Yom Kippur war despite having a huge numerical advantage and being oh so superior ... at least according to your game.

Well maybe it's me then....

I really like mediums and lights, heavies/Heaviums not so much.   The Italians were supposed to be Heaviums but I just can't find any useful armour anywhere.
I got penned like no tomorrow and I know how to use armour. The complete lack of mobility was the ultimate dealbreaker though.
Gun might be workable, but certainly not for me.

For me, these .... whatever they supposed to be, are just sluggish, badly armoured pseudo-meds.

That about sums it, though for me the ultimate gamebreaker about these tanks is the horrible accuracy of the gun. I really hope Tier VIII to Tier X will make it worthwhile, V to VII are zero fun. I won't touch any of them with a bargepole as soon as I have finished the grind.

nerf the hell out of progetto 46 it is WAY TO OP, I main arty and I am sick of it getting nerfed constantly yet you let seriously overpowered crap like the progetto stay in game? every time a progetto is in the match they get a minimum of 5 kills , it deals way to much damage it is way to fast it has way to much armour. I'm seriously considering not playing anymore with this game breaking tank still running around
