It's trash and shouldn't have been redone, but the only positive I can think is it feels atleast better than it used to be, as there's more cover on each side (which is both a good and bad thing) so you aren't instantly punished because you didn't immediately reverse to the redline as soon as the battle started.. Still garbage though, and shouldn't be able to see games higher than Tier III At-frickin'-most.

Only had it once, went to the left end of the south ridge to see what they had done with houses there, discovered they had took away all the cover and died. Might go somewhere else next time :-)

Seems WG hires only true professionals and experts for map design these days. Not to mention the fantastic Quality tester teams.

Keep up the good work !

Its funny how players complain when maps are removed but when maps are put in they still complain, there is just no winning..... Guess im just not the picky type and dont dwell on such things?

They remove bad maps, which is ok. But they also remove semi ok'ish maps while refusing to remove VERY bad maps, which we are then forced to play more often than before, which is bad. They reintroduce bad maps and make it even worse by turning a lowtier map into a hightier map, which is bad.

Personally I think there are many worse maps in the game, from what I have played so far I actually think Province is ok, certainly gives you way more options in paper meds and lights, and I'd much rather play it than like Abbey, Mountain Pass, Ensk, Paris, Fjords, Erlenberg, HImmelsdorf, Ruinberg etc.

Having some mobility actually has an impact, cross-fire is actually a thing on this map and view range/camo can also play a role.

It could be be better, needs some more flanking routes and they need to make the middle more viable at least mid to end game, but I've had some huge combined damage games on this.

To be honest though I don't get the complaints. How the hell can you not want to want to play Province but are fine on Abbey or Mountain Pass, at least the two flanks on Province actually have some interaction and cross fire between them and the bots actually have to think about getting shot into the side, rather than the pure corridors that are those other maps that have zero interaction between the two flanks.

So all this player does is start threads saying he AFKs if things aren't to his liking.

And now a map makes him flee.  This is the modern generation.  He probably runs off and eats laundry detergent, which is all the rage with da yoof these days.

You don't really read up what I write if you think that...

Those are not really the only options...

Not fine on most maps. Redshire is great and there should be more maps like it. Map where every class works, multiple flanking options, not forced corridors.

I have only played one game on it, so too early to say it's crap. Maybe, in time, it will merely prove to be rubbish.

Tbh, this map would nice if it would be 1,1 x 1,1 km or 1,2 x 1,2 km so view range has more impact and you actually can sneak through middle in mid- to late-game (not possible with current size). It's a good idea - it has lots of possibilities for spotting and aggressive plays, and flanks are not completely separated so you can actually help teammates on the opposite side.

It's just too small.

First game on Province, I told myself, Mines is actually not the worst map in high tiers. It turned out to be a total lockdown and I had to hide behind a building because of proxyspotting. The brave players got punished for being offensive.

Still as it always was, an enormous camp fest of bots sniping from either side. Anyone who tries pushing for a victory is insta-wrecked by wank-tanking tds.

Maximum should be tier V, after that it's idiotic.

I think you got it wrong. I have never had a single battle on that new map that was a campfest. We always pushed or got pushed. Always.

There is plenty of time to cross to another side and everybody seems to know that.

I've played it 5 times. Every time my whole team has camped our side, theirs has camped their side. Any attempts to push either flank are insta-thwarted. Your experience may be different (perhaps you got lucky with slightly better teams) but I can assure you I haven't got it wrong.

Ever game I've played tanks generally progressed, the camping IMO was no worse than you see on many maps and in many cases easier to deal with, for example Mines, Erlenberg and Redshire I see way more baseline camping, all the games I have played on Province teams have tried to progress along the opposite flank they spawn on, using the bushes to spot the campers so they can get cross fired.

Again don't get the fuss people are making, there are like 10 plus maps IMO in the game right now that are worse than Province and Province is a map where paper meds and lights actually have an impact, whereas maps like Abbey or Mountain pass they are basically useless passengers dependent on their heavies doing well.

To be honest from this thread I get the impression many people here haven't worked out how to play it. Saw similar whines with Glacier, which again is a much better map than the recent fare WG have brought in (Paris, Stalingrad etc.)

I don't get the hate either; I have played only 4 matches with it, so maybe it doesnt count, but it is definitely not as bad as Fjords is.
