I hear many legend about the tank...it have big gun.

Okay seriously though,I would like any tips you can offer. Pretend that I have the KV-13's ultra-OP crew with 5 skills (as mentioned down below,in that one area we call forum sig).

And before anyone asks: Yes,I have grinded IS-4 line before.

I also found GLD to be very good on KV-13 - l Iiterally rip apart paper armored tanks in a matter  of seconds.

A-44?  Sell it or free exp it before it drives you mad.  It's a road-block-on-grind tank.

Having said that, while most find it abominable, 5% love it.  You might be one of them.

The A-44 is one of the few tanks with a dispersion so poor that it's not even surprising if a snapshot at an E-75 less than ten meters away aimed at the lower plate flies high over the cupola. It's that bad. In addition its reload is quite sluggish. Finding the best distances for engagements can be quite challenging, because you neither want to get too close nor too far.

Having said that, the camo and mobility is decent.

Oh, and avoid ridges if you can. The "top hat" cupola on the top turret sticks out a mile-and-a-half and the gun depression is positively Chinese.

Sometimes you can have a real nice game in it. But it also can be quite aggravating and frustrating to play because of that gun.

It tends to work a bit better, IMHO, when the map starts getting cleared up and you get more room to outmanoeuvre your enemies. Save up hit points for the second half of the game, just like with lights.

And if you're going for it, good luck (& have fun).

I got it wasted loads of free xp on it, played two games in it, sold it. STG, IS M, all rubbish, some say they would take the IS M over the IS 3, for what reason I do not know. IS 3 is a way better tank, even in hands:mellow:

I like A-44 very much, it have bad laying turret but, for me, awesome canon for its tier. He can easy be Td with minor adjustments.

Play it like a Td first, because if you get in close combat you will have to go from cover backwards or to reveal the whole tank if you want to hit enemy. Also its very crappy on hills because that turret.

I just unlocked this one too, had to grind tracks with the 57mm.. which was surprisingly workable. I got lucky to be toptier all the time. Guess I'll get ready to do lots of damage to the ground and skybox with the 107 or just go back to the pewgun..

Well, it doesn't shoot well, it can't snipe, it doesn't side-scrape well, it has no gun depression, it's armor is meh, and it has a rear-place turret (which I am too stupid to use). So...ambushes at close range should be your thing, i guess? Bully meds and lights, maybe slap a heavy with alpha and run. Otherwise a very challenging tank and definitely not something that can adapt to the flow of battle. Sorry for not helping more.

... and don't forget to ram! It has the speed and weight to make it fairly good at ramming most equal and lower tier tanks, iirc.

The tumor on top makes it awful when you can't hide it but the 107mm makes up for it. Nothing from a tier 7 medium tank hits that hard even though it takes longer to reload but 300 alpha is something even some tier 8s should be afraid of.

It's one of those special tanks like the T-44 with the 122mm....doesn't always work but when it pens 390 alpha hurts.

Just finished it & purchased the Obj 416

I admit it was a lot of fun to play & debated it being added to the perma-garage.

I hated the A-43 despite being a fan of the Cromwell, and went in to this expecting to hate it, but it has been a joy to play.  I seem to either do really well in it or it's a zero damage game, with nothing in between.  You really have to read the battle well in it, and look for opportunities to catch enemies unawares either by lying in ambush or by making use of its decent mobility to flank enemies when they are dealing with one of your teammates.  I had a hugely satisfying kill in it yesterday stalking an enemy E25, sneaking in to close range and then charging him down, and cackling as he panicked and bounced nearly all of his shots off my frontal armour, while I rammed him and pushed him in to the red line and held him there.  Just don't ever try snap shooting; it's not one of those hand of Stalin tanks, and the gun needs to be fully aimed.

Ill be one of those 5% then, i liked A-44 alot. It was pretty fun tank to play and i think first with turret in the back. It starts to shine when fully upgraded and has pretty much trollish armor too :)

LOL it will always surprise you...  I just left auto aim on vs the wrong one in a 1vs2 and fired at what I thought was a point blank range side shot and instead it was still auto aiming at the other enemy who was hanging back, just visible over the ridgeline; this shot naturally went straight in to his commander's hatch in a shot which would never have hit if it had been aimed!

Currently, I got purple stats on it and a 75% WR, but that's only after 12 games. Shooting for 300 is kinda fun, if you hit and if you pen.

The thing that is the most annoying with this tank is those frontal fires. One hit by a Cromwell or so seems enough to lit this thing like a Christmas tree. I wonder if preventive maintenance is useful for that, but I'm guessing it's a fuel tank or transmission fire. You do need to sidescrape to avoid fires.

its the frontal engine crits that annoy the heck out me.

the gun is preety good for the damage it does, but the gun handling, oh the gun handling. even though I don't play it as much, the 416 is a much more pleasant experience

I reverse in to action for the extra gun depression...
