Just a little rock when you sliding down and tank is on its side. YOU CANNOT DO ANYTHING FFS.

You cannot reset it you cannot leave, just like and idiot wait, of course no one help you.

Great when this happen in Frontline, everyone go forward and no one gives a damn. You want to leave? NO YOU ARE DESERTER. What brainless idiot has tested this??

I thought in Frontline you had the option to switch to another tank, destroying your current one?

  • What's the point in having physics and overturn mechanics if you can just press a button and reset yourself?
  • If you drive through a river and drown yourself, do you also call it stupid water?
  • If you drive a tank in real life, would you also slide it down cliffs and mountains?

1. this game is a parody of real life

2. I've never heard of anyone being able to flip a 39 ton Swedish cheese wedge with ease.

I call that stupid.

That's because the in real life Swedish soldiers have to pass an IQ test before they are allowed to drive a 39 ton tank. In WOT many players would just eat the crayon they were given to tick the boxes with.

Yes, there is. You have to hold "J" key to leave the current tank and select a new one. OFC you need an extra tank available or you will have to wait untill it's ready.

I suppose OP didn't read the tutorial that came with the game mode....

And you completely missed the point. I'm not saying that WoT is super realistic, but it's a game that is modeled from a realistic point of view. Thus, if he wouldn't slide a tank down a cliff or mountain in real life, why would he do that in a game that has physics modeled after reality? That's asking for trouble and trouble is what he got.

If any of you 2 want to be able to drive your vehicle like mad and have no consequences from so, I want to recommend you a game. It's called Mario Kart.

Thank you, I did read the tutorial but missed this for some reason. Luckily some friendly enemy killed me when I tipped my Ravioli over earlier this evening :hiding:

The game is actually very forgiving in terms of realism. The way we drive the tanks and do our handbrake turns reminds me more of GuP than RL...

Metal tracks on a concrete road don't really give you traction like rubber tires do. You would actually slide out of control a lot. On rough rocks maybe not so much but i think they just did it to prevent mountaineers to try and climb the usual spots again....thank them forcing WG to take such extreme measures.

We wouldn't be able to cross many bridges either because many of the old bridges weren't meant to carry tanks. Also the way we deep wade wouldn't work either since in case you want to get stuck in the water the moment your engine sucks in water through the intake causing it to hydrolock.

We would need snorkels like in this pic.

Tanks are very top heavy....give them enough momentum and they flip. If the STRV had been in actual service and for long enough you would have seens flipping incidents as well but the chances of it flipping are very low unless the driver does something really stupid.

Since the Merkava is pretty wedgy in it's design here's a report how this incident happened...

https://www.israelan...f-tank-training

Block Quote

A tank diverged from its route and rolled over...

As long as the tank slides over the surface it's ok but if the tracks dig in...i think everybody knows this incident by now since it's brought up on every "a tank can't flip" thread.

On the other hand we could use boosters like this in exchange.....russian tanks need more mobility.

1) If it takes a few tries on average and relates to driver skill, why not?

2) Sometimes I do, particularly if there is an unexpected sudden drop off there just to trick people into thinking it is safer than it looks.

3) I do not drive a tank in real life, but in real life, tanks do not handle like they do in WoT. They can flip but not normally over relatively small embankments. Frankly much more likely to just throw a track than flip.

People talk about IQ and consequence- I jumped off the cliff (laaag) and the tank just bounce with no consequences -wtf - but a smallest rock makes the tank flip turn sideways?

Honestly, tanks being able to flip is something that should've never been implemented. It's a f-ing stupid concept in itself. Slightest bump on my M5A1 and im already on my Edited  sides. This is so Edited ,excuse me for crying out loud.

All my previous pissiness at flipping was forgotten about the first time I did a full barrel-roll next to an enemy and killed him just as my tank landed back on its tracks...

I think that you guys are extremely exaggerating this whole turn over issue. Since WG introduced these mechanics (I can't even remember how many years it has been now) I think that I've managed to overturn my vehicle maybe 15-20 times. And all of those times it was because I was either optimistic in taking a bad shortcut, or because I was distracted by something else and didn't watch where I drove. You need to realise that the only reason your tank lays up-side-down is because of your own mistakes. Same as if you push into a bad position or get cought in the open, you will get destroyed by the enemy.

Let's not forget, for all those who complain about tank flipping being unrealistic, that before we had this physics system tanks could dangle off cliff edges like they were tethered at the rear because it wasn't possible to drive/fall down.

That said, some details can be tweaked a little... my RU feels like it's figure skating all the time, some rocks that look insignificant bring your tank to a full stop (or worse, virtually launch it into the air), other rocks that look tricky you can pass right through... I can understand why people say it feels kinda arbitrary sometimes.
