Never face Type 59 with Chaffee...

Ammo... AP and APCR, 50/50

I have 80/20% split with AP and HE.  You can kill a Type 59 but its bloody dangerous!

I take 5 rounds of HE just in case, rest AP. T-59 are difficult but many "wallet warriors" aren't very bright so simple circle fight and shooting sides and rear with AP does the trick.

I normally only have 25 AP all the rest HE. Because you're more likely to run into large tanks and need to HE spam them.

5/6 AP; 1/6 HE ... just enough to reliably uncap against heavier tanks.

All AP, HE perfromance is rather low with the 76mm but the AP performance is great. With the speed and agility you can circle quiet some high tier tanks to death if you find them wandering around by themselfs... you should not engage grouped tanks anyway so AP is all you need.

HE is useless with Chaffee

Just looking at the gun stats I'd be loading almost all AP, it's got enough penetration to take on Type59's from the sides and you should be able to run rings around them.

Better than my PzV/IV which is up against Type59 all the time and I use AP against them.

You're doing it wrong if you load 76mm HE rounds. What would be the point? If the AP wont penetrate, then the HE will do so little damage that it doesn't really matter. Plus the AP has incredible pen value.

AP with some APCR loadout.

If not using premium ammo one can load HE only for base defend situations. 5 HE should suffice. For fighting HE from low caliber gun is very ineffective.

Chaffee has very effective AP gun, can fight tier9 (IS-4 from rear, but all other from side).

AP, the Chaffee has a great gun. From the right angle you should be able to penetrate anything in game almost, I have T54 and IS4 amongst my kills for instance.

Aye, though I know of no way to damage Maus, and E-75 is pretty unlikely as well, despite the rated 120mm side and read armor, and the cupola has thus far bounced every shot.

Haven't given E-100 a shot yet, but I doubt Chaffee can damage it either. At least after next patch.

IS-7 with AP (did about 20%). "Just" shoot the back of the turret...   :Smile-playing:

i carry 5 he and the rest ap.

one game i fired 5 rounds into the side of an e-75 who was ignoring me while fighting others and two of them penned (close range) so it can be done and i have set an e-100 on fire from behind.

cant remember ever doing anything to a maus though.

10 HE, for when i can't flank.
Against Ausf B, easy. E-75, flanks are quite hard to pen, just shoot the back of the turret, paper armor.
Against Is-4-7, the rear :

Against T34-30, flanks and rear.
Maus... 45° from front, to the tracks under the skirt (already damaged one), but HE to the mantlet is a more reliable way.

Against KV-5, the rear (but not all the rear...) and the R2D2.

Against the T-59, as soon as you see it's flank, you can pen it, even with very low angle.

With the E-50, same as KT, not the front.
Even Patton's front is hazardous to pen.

8-10 HE for resetting only. That is, if you actually use your minimap to know when to run back and reset. If not, just go 100% AP.
